KC Current midfielder Lo’eau LaBonta called up to US Women’s National Team
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City Current midfielder Lo’eau LaBonta has been called up to the U.S. Women’s National Team (USWNT) for the upcoming FIFA international window, U.S. Soccer announced Sunday.
According to a news release, LaBonta will replace Seattle Reign FC midfielder Sam Meza, who was ruled out of the roster due to a minor injury. This is the second time she has been called up to the USWNT. LaBonta’s first appearance was in May.

LaBonta will attend the October training camp alongside three Kansas City teammates: forward and midfielder Ally Sentnor, midfielder Claire Hutton and forward Michelle Cooper.
With four players, the Current is now tied with Gotham FC for the most players on any National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) team’s USWNT roster.
The USWNT begins the upcoming FIFA window with two matches against Portugal. The first match is on Thursday in Chester, Pennsylvania. The U.S. and Portugal will meet again in East Hartford, Connecticut, next Sunday.
The Stars and Stripes conclude their three-match set against New Zealand in Kansas City on Wednesday, Oct. 29, at CPKC Stadium. This marks the first USWNT game at CPKC Stadium
