Important!

If you or those close to you are in imminent physical danger or there has been a direct threat of physical violence, you should immediately call the Harvard University Police Department at (617) 495-1212 if you are on the Harvard campus. If you are not on campus, call 911.

ISDP Services

The ISDP Team along with the School PrivSec Officers (SPSOs) provide a number of services to support members of the Harvard community. Choose a service below for more information and/or to submit a service request ticket.

School members should contact their SPSO for non-urgent questions, concerns, or school-specific research and administrative inquiries.

Incident Response and Investigation

Monitors University systems, triages incidents and coordinates a response. Assists the community with mitigating the impact when a privacy or security related event is reported.

Report a Misconfiguration or Unsecured Data

If you discover exposed sensitive Harvard data or suspect a system insecurity or misconfiguration, submit a ticket via HUIT IT Help.

Report a Lost Electronic Device

If you have lost a Harvard-managed device, submit a ticket via HUIT IT Help and open a case with HUPD 617-495-1215.

 

Staff members should also notify their manager.

Report Suspicious Account Activity

If you see unexpected requests for verifying HarvardKey, emails being sent unexpectedly or other unusual technology behavior, submit a ticket via HUIT IT Help.

Secure Computing

Provides a variety of tools to protect passwords and systems, identify vulnerabilities and to monitor for incidents. Assists the community with maintaining secure systems and data.

Intrusion and Malware Detection

If you need assistance with next-generation antivirus (NGAV) and/or endpoint detection and response (EDR), submit a ticket via HUIT IT Help.

Password Management

If you need assistance with secure password storage or service/support credentials, submit a ticket via HUIT IT Help.

SSL Certificate

If you need assistance with the University's self-service Certificate Management system, submit a ticket via HUIT IT Help.

Vulnerability Management

If you need assistance with HUIT's solutions which manage application security, vulnerability management, or cloud security, submit a ticket via HUIT IT Help.

Consulting and Education

Provides online/in person courses and outreach programs, risk assessments and general consulting. Assists the community with making the best decisions.

General Inquiries, Project or Training Assistance

If you cannot find the PrivSec information you need, require policy and standards interpretation or want help with training, submit a ticket via HUIT IT Help.

Risk Assessments

If you need assistance with performing a vendor risk assessment or other PrivSec related assessments, submit a ticket via HUIT IT Help.

Policy and Governance

Publishes and maintains University PrivSec policies and standards. Reviews and recommends remediation when an exception is required. Assists the community with mitigating and tracking risks.

Policy Exception Management

If you need to submit a policy exception request and get help with remediation or approvals, submit a ticket via HUIT IT Help.
