Commission of Investigation Concerning Greek Frontier Incidents

Commission of Investigation Concerning Greek Frontier Incidents

The pain and suffering of war and civil strife is reflected in the face of a bereaved woman of Greece. This is one of a series of pictures taken by official United Nations photographer accompanying U.N. Commission of Investigation Concerning Greek Frontier Incidents.

The Commission of Investigation Concerning Greek Frontier Incidents was created by United Nations Security Council Resolution 15 (1946) to ascertain the facts relating to alleged border violations of the Greek frontier, and to hear cases of the four governments concerned: Albania, Bulgaria, Greece and Yugoslavia, as well as political prisoners, private individuals and representatives of political parties.
