Following the install instructions, when I run configure for the veejay-server package after installing veejay-core I get this error: "Cannot find libveejaycore 1.5.63 or later". I ran ldconfig after installing veejay-core. I looked in /usr/local/lib and found "libveejaycore-1.5.so.0.1.5" so it seems to be below the version that veejay-server configure was looking for. My OS is arch 6.8.4
