The current .dmg artifact poses challenges for creating idempotent automation for consuming and deploying doxygen in macOS CI/CD environments. For example, to interact with a .DMG, one must first mount it which requires a unique mountpoint on the OS be computed, and then attached to. In automation, this creates the possibility of a previous run leaving a DMG mounted, and thus the possibility of a mount conflict with a previous execution is an untenable problem. The "extract" operation for Archives doesn't suffer this problem. This, it this is better suited for automation.
