I disabled both and they are still visible in the navigation tree.

Furthermore, I tried and set all tags to no in every section, the result was the same.

• Where did you store the adjusted layout file?
• What is the name of the adjusted layout file?
• did you have a look at the setting LAYOUT_FILE?
• Did you try with the current doxygen 1.15.0 version as well? (I don't think this will help though).

So when everything fails:

• Can you please attach a, small, self contained example (source+configuration file in a, compressed, tar or zip file!) that allows us to reproduce the problem?
  Please don't add external links as they might not be persistent (also references to GitHub repositories are considered non persistent).

• The layout file is stored in the directory where Doxyfile is located. I used the doxygen -l command.
• The name is the default one when it generates, DoxygenLayout.xml.
• The setting is the following: LAYOUT_FILE = DoxygenLayout.xml

Well with newer versions some bugs / inconsistencies could have been fixed.

That is OK

I did some small tests with the doxygen internal documentation and read some code. I see that when setting the indicated items to no won't work as this will influence what is presented on the middle part / description part of the HTML page.

• I assume that you still want to see the descriptions of the typedefs / defines in the description part and in the index in regarding these parts.

Looks like the something might have to be done in index.cpp in the function static void writeFileMemberIndexFiltered(OutputList &ol, FileMemberHighlight::Enum hl) but probably also in some other functions. Furthermore, probably, also some new layout items have to be defined.
@doxygen what do you think?

@MartMila example is not really necessary as it is reproducible with the doxygen internal documentation (at least when my assumbtion above is correct).
