I don't think its something you should worry about. Microsoft on Tuesday said that it’s laying off 3% of employees across all levels and geographies. “We continue to implement organizational changes necessary to best position the company for success in a dynamic marketplace,” a Microsoft spokesperson said in a statement to CNBC. The company reported better-than-expected results and an upbeat quarterly forecast in late April. Microsoft had 228,000 employees at the end of June, meaning that the move will affect thousands of employees. It’s likely Microsoft’s largest round of layoffs since the elimination of 10,000 roles in 2023. In January the company announced a small round of layoffs that were performance-based. These new job cuts are not related to performance, the spokesperson said. One objective is to reduce layers of management, the spokesperson said. |

Interestingly, Microsoft just updated the MAUI Product Support Lifecycle page on May 13. https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/platform/support/policy/maui |

Satya Nadella is slowly destroying Microsoft. He made stupid decisions like killing many good projects like Windows Mobile, XNA, Silverlight, HoloLens. And now MAUI. 😔 |

It may simply be nothing. Also, I could see them assuming the role of only maintaining the OS and SDK compatibility. Concentrate on MAUI Blazor Hybrid to compete with React Native, and let other projects take over the non-web-based solutions now that MAUI is closing in on maturity. |

"Microsoft laid off the senior engineers of .NET on Android and key figures of Maui.
This might just be the US wave, so perhaps the whole thing is doomed."
I would like some official information regarding this ASAP, please. A .NET Maui app we've had under development for two years is absolutely vital to our organisation.
