Initial install failure #1326

I'm trying to use Directory Lister on a Synology NAS. I was able to use a previous version, but when I attempt to deploy the current version I get a blank screen. Enabling debug shows: Unable to create the cache directory (app/cache/views/9d). The cache directory exists already with 777 permissions. Any suggestions?

I think the previous version I was using was prior to 3.0 if that helps.

Are you attempting to upgrade your existing installation or do a fresh installation?

If you haven't already, try deleting the entire app/cache folder and recreating it.

Also, make sure you're downloading Directory Lister from https://www.directorylister.com/#download and installing it from the zip/tar.gz file. Cloning from Git requires extra steps to install properly and is only recommended for development purposes.

I'm installing from the tar.gz. I tried deleting the app/cache folder and recreating. Same thing. I'm guessing that it just doesn't work on the Synology's web services for some reason. I tried the same file on web hosting and it works fine there.

I'm using NGINX 1.23.1 and php 8.2.21

Are you getting any output? If you enable debugging are there any useful messages?

No output until debugging is enabled. Then I get:

RuntimeException thrown with message "Unable to create the cache directory (app/cache/views/9d).

The "Unable to create the cache directory" issue means your web server is unable to write to the cache directory. Make sure the user your web server is running as has write permissions to the app/cache (and app/cache/views) directory.

Alternatively you may try changing the cache driver.
