Managed services companies have arrived at a major realization over the past few years: moving to the cloud is no longer a choice. In his talk at TSIA's 2023 World Interact Conference, titled “Unintended Consequences of Transitioning to the Cloud,” Brian Adler, Senior Director of Cloud Market Strategy at Flexera, noted that new cloud-based workloads are increasing—but at the same time, legacy infrastructure still needs to be maintained. Managed services organizations are thus faced with a balancing act between adopting modern applications while still preserving on-premise servers and other hardware.
