Terror Squad takes over Billboard’s Hot 100 after a steady nine-week rise with the summer anthem “Lean Back.” It’s the second fastest ascent this year behind Usher’s “Yeah!” featuring Ludacris and Lil Jon, which rose to the summit in its eighth week.
“Lean Back” also remains at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks, Hot Rap Tracks and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay charts. Terror Squad’s sophomore album, “True Story” (Universal), falls 7-14 in its second week on The Billboard 200.
After two weeks on top of the Hot 100 and Hot 100 Airplay charts, Juvenile’s “Slow Motion” falls to No. 2 on both lists. Lil’ Flip’s “Sunshine” is the Hot 100’s greatest airplay gainer and climbs two spots to No. 3. The song also rises one to No. 3 on Billboard’s Hot 100 Airplay tally.
Kevin Lyttle’s “Turn Me On” featuring Spragga Benz remains steady at No. 4 on the Hot 100 for a second week, while Christina Milian’s “Dip it Low” jumps 6-5.
Rounding out the top 10, Ciara’s “Goodies” featuring Petey Pablo rises 10-6, Usher’s “Confessions Part II” falls 3-7, Nina Sky’s “Move Ya Body” featuring Jabba dips 7-8, Nelly’s “My Place” ascends 13-9 and Alicia Keys’ “If I Ain’t Got You” falls two spots to close out the top tier.
Young Buck’s “Let Me In” — the first single from his upcoming Interscope debut “Straight Outta Cashville” — climbs two spots to No. 36 as the Hot 100’s fastest-growing track at retail this week.
Also making notable gains are Lil’ Scrappy’s “No Problem” (62-50), Ryan Cabrera’s “On the Way Down” (66-52), Andy Griggs’ “She Thinks She Needs Me” (64-54) and Sara Evans’ “Suds in the Bucket” (65-55).
Leading four consecutive bows is the chart’s top debut is Joe Nichols’ “If Nobody Believed in You” at No. 72. The Arkansas native’s sophomore Universal South effort, “Revelation,” sits at No. 21 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart this week.
Right behind him on the Hot 100 is Rascal Flatts’ “Feels Like Today” at No. 73, followed by Anita Baker’s “You’re My Everything” (No. 74) and Prince’s “Call My Name” (75). Green Day’s “American Idiot” and Crime Mob’s “Knuck if You Buck” featuring Lil’ Scrappy enter the chart at No. 77 and No. 98, respectively.
Tim McGraw’s “Live Like You Were Dying” starts its fifth week atop Billboard’s Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart. The song’s reign was interrupted for one week by Reba McEntire’s “Somebody,” which falls 4-8 this week.
As Three Days Grace’s “Just Like You” tops Billboard’s Modern Rock Tracks chart for the third week, it also manages to end the nine-week reign of “Slither” on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, where the Velvet Revolver cut drops to No. 2.
