THE STORY
…. but that doesn’t pay the bills so I manage bands, do record label consulting, promote shows and events. Oh, and I herd cats.
Ann Arkey Productions is the production company founded by Tami Thomsen, a longtime fixture in the Texas music industry. Tami was the co-founder of Dallas’ Last Beat Record Store, Last Beat Recording Studios, and Last Beat Record Label. She went on to help launch and grow Kirtland Records, releasing music from artists including Toadies, Sarah Jaffe, The Fixx, Bush, Bob Schneider, and Polyphonic Spree.
During that time, she was also involved with Sonar Management and Sonar Events, co-creating and co-producing major festivals and events such as Dia De Los Toadies, Smoked Dallas, and Taco Libre. With hands-on experience in nearly every corner of the industry—from retail and recording to label operations—Tami brings deep expertise in publicity, booking, marketing, and artist management.
Through Ann Arkey Productions, she currently manages Toadies and Sarah Jaffe, and provides consulting services to Kirtland Records, State Fair Records, Skylark Soul Company and other music and arts organizations
She served two terms as an elected Governor for the Texas Chapter of the Recording Academy and currently sits on the advisory boards of Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, the mental health nonprofit Amplified Minds, and the Dallas Music Office.
