Objectives

To improve the quality of learning in both formal and informal settings.
To support school library media personnel

  • in developing standards that promote effective use of the school library media center.
  • by sharing and disseminating information, techniques, and standards.
  • by informing state leadership of the importance of school libraries to the educational mission.
  • by establishing and maintaining channels of communications between the organization, the profession, and the public.
  • by stimulating use of communication technologies throughout Wyoming.
  • in assisting administrators, managers, and others responsible for planning communication technologies and materials in schools and libraries.
  • by encouraging research on a statewide basis to determine current "best practices."
  • in collaborating with the state Department of Education and state government in the formation of policies, standards, and practices in educational communications and technologies.
  • in maintaining contact with agencies who are interested in educational communication and technology as well as establishing cooperation with the educational communications industry.
