This is part one of a three-part webinar series delivered in partnership between SCUP, AASCU (American Association of State Colleges and Universities), and ACRL (Association of College and Research Libraries). In these conversations, higher education administrators, planners, designers, and library stakeholders discuss the challenges to higher education in a changing world and how more deeply to engage libraries to enable institutional achievement. View the recordings for part two, “Library Support for Equitable Access to Knowledge”, and part three, “Library Support for Equitable Access to Knowledge”.

With societal inequalities in high relief, exacerbated by the pandemic and with lasting effect for many students, institutions must seek novel ways to meet needs and support success. This requires more concerted efforts to mitigate, and ensure we do not perpetuate, the barriers students face. How can institutions leverage librarians as educational partners, complementing the classroom experience, to ensure students from all walks of life have a strong net of academic support?

Presenters:

Nicholas Santilli (Host), Senior Director of Learning Strategy, Society for College and University Planning
Terry Brown (Moderator), Vice President for Academic Innovation and Transformation, American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU)
Trevor A. Dawes (Panelist), Vice Provost for Libraries and Museums and May Morris University Librarian (former president of ACRL), University of Delaware
Carisima Koenig (Panelist), Associate Higher Education Practice Leader, Perkins Eastman
William Rando (Panelist), Executive Director, Chicago Center for Teaching & Learning, Associate Dean of the College, University of Chicago
