CABIN FEVER RIDE ?!? HUH ?
CABIN FEVER RIDE ?!? HUH ?
***CABIN FEVER RIDE ?*** This is the ride in YOUR HEAD you wish you were able to do RIGHT NOW ! EVERY WINTER we are ALL involved in "CABIN FEVER" So, what to do about it ? We could have ZOOM meetings ! WHAT SUBJECTS to chat about, learn from, tires, bikes, exhaust, suspension !? We could enjoy a " SWAP MEET " PLEASE TELL ALL of US what could help cure CABIN FEVER ? ALSO, WHO is willing to step up & help KEEP CDSR ENGAGING ?? This past 2025 i was thankful for a number of members who posted events, YET I KNOW there have been a lot of private invites that COULD of been posted. The premise of MeetUp is that the membership, (yes YOU) types up a few words or wordier (yes, that is a word) to SAY " DOING my FAVORITE RIDE this Saturday at 9am & we will meet at 123 Main " ! This CDSR group is NOT MINE or anyone's, CDSR is OURS , YOURS & MORE ! A short paved ride of 22 miles through neighborhoods to a cool coffee shop or a ONE week adventure through four states. Trailer out west to ride sand & BIG rocks, North to the U.P. which offers a lot of challenges. ALL entities need help to keep them vibrant ! THIS ENTITY is no different. I NEED YOUR help ! POST something....Even questions on the discussion page ! The ONLY difference between me & you as a member is that I AM RESPONSIBLE for PAYING the dues to KEEP CDSR ALIVE, I & 3 others can change content/pictures & ! YES, there are dues for this web page of which i am happy to cover with my monies or donations. This is NOT A CLUB ! There are NO BOARD members or Roberts Rules of order, fund raisers, meetings, meetings ! THIS CDSR is EACH & EVERY ONE of US runs the entity with our personal touches i.e. get togethers, rides, medical lessons &&&&& ! Once you have been to an event or someone knows you, then you can become an event organizer. This position allows YOU to POST events.. So if you have tried to post or want to try, then PM myself or post on discussions or other locations. QUESTIONS OR PREFERENCES ? POST THEM BELOW for starters !
Pop-Up Ride to Northerly Island
Pop-Up Ride to Northerly Island
Supposed to pop-up to 45F on Saturday... anyone want to dust off the bike for a fun "pre-season" ride? Idea would be to ride from the north side down to Northerly Island, to see this less well-known Chicago nature preserve (thanks Mayor Daley, and who needed Meigs Field anyway?), taking the trail onto the island, stopping to enjoy the views, and heading back north. If there is interest, we may stop at Navy Pier for food so consider bringing a lock & some money. Look for parking on Simonds Dr near Lawrence Av (just E of Lake Shore Drive), then meet where Lakefront Trail crosses Lawrence (same Lawrence & Simonds intersection). Allow for traffic if driving into the city as it can get busy this time of day. Exact details TBD depending who shows up, but likely a 15-20 mi loop. If we have lots of folks we can consider multiple groups by speed, if not, my typical pace is about 10-12 mph, and we won't leave anyone behind so it could vary a little off that at points. As always, rides are subject to change, so watch Meetup for updates! Other reminders: HELMET IS MANDATORY. As is a properly maintained bike. No earbuds, earphones, or speakers please. Also recommend you carry (1) photo ID, emergency contact info & insurance card, (2) spare tube & pump/CO2 (3) water bottle. Of course dress for weather (sunglasses, sunscreen, bug spray, rain poncho, etc). While this is a daylight ride, headlight and taillight are recommended to make you more visible. NOTE: All riders participate at their own risk. Neither Meetup.com nor Let's Ride organizers are responsible for your safety or enjoyment on this ride.
Hell Or High Point: Rope Climbing Competition @ First Ascent Avondale!
Hell Or High Point: Rope Climbing Competition @ First Ascent Avondale!
We’re meeting up at First Ascent Avondale for Hell or Highpoint, First Ascent’s signature roped climbing competition. Come climb, cheer people on, and hang out for a couple hours (or stay for finals + the afterparty). How the comp runs (so you know what you’re walking into): There are two redpoint sessions: Session 1 (10:00am–1:00pm) and Session 2 (2:00pm–5:00pm). Open + Masters must compete in Session 1. Rec + Intermediate are top rope only; Open is a mix of top rope + lead (and you’ll need to be able to show lead tags if you’re leading in Open). Open Finals + Afterparty start at 5:30pm. Meetup plan: Three of the group admins are competing in the afternoon Intermediate division. We’ll meet by the orange chairs just past the front desk. If you’re competing, plan to show up a bit early for check-in/warm-up and to find partners. Belay / partner notes: If you’re leading, you and your partner should be lead certified (and Open may require proof of lead tags, per the event rules). If you’re new to these meetups, feel free to comment with your belay certs (TR / Lead) so we can pair folks up smoothly. Quick notes: We’re not affiliated with the gym—you’ll need a day pass or membership and your own gear (shoes + harness). This event includes a spectator/belayer pass requirement during the redpoint rounds (and finals spectating is free, per the event info). Be cool: zero tolerance for harassment or bad vibes. Climbing has risk—safety first, always. Hope to see you there! If you have questions (or want help figuring out which session/division fits you), drop a comment.

Play Social 16" Softball, Kickball and Beach Volleyball! We'll put you on a team
Play Social 16" Softball, Kickball and Beach Volleyball! We'll put you on a team
When Spring finally arrives in Chicago, it's our goal to be outside enjoying the weather as much as possible. And there's absolutely nothing better than joining a social intramural league that focuses on making new friends as much as the games. It's a blast getting to know new people playing and then afterwards over drinks at your league sponsor bar that all teams walk to! Hanging out with the same group week after week for 5-7 weeks makes it pretty effortless to build lasting relationships over the duration of the season. That truly is the best part of my leagues :) **ALL SKILL LEVELS ARE WELCOME** (aka no experience required) and we can place anyone aged 21-42 on a team. Simply register by yourself or with friends and I'll put you with others around your age for the season. Want to get on a team but can't make it to every game? No problem! We put extra players on every team for this very reason. **[REGISTER TO JOIN US](https://s3leagues.com/spring-leagues)** as we **MEETUP** for some coed, recreational level "Simply Social" sports leagues! \*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\* **GET $20 OFF 16" SOFTBALL OR KICKBALL PLAYER FEES W/ PROMO CODE 'MEETUPHOOKUP' -- \*PLUS GIRLS GET 50% OFF 16" SOFTBALL!** Play 7 weeks of softball or kickball for only $37-$80!! Price depends on the league. And 5-week Beach Volleyball seasons are cheap at only $65-70! \*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\* **NOTE:** THE DATE AND LOCATION SHOWN FOR THIS MEETUP EVENT ARE JUST A PLACEHOLDER. **[CHECK OUT MY WEBSITE HERE](https://s3leagues.com/spring-leagues)** FOR THE FULL LEAGUE OPTIONS, DETAILS AND TO REGISTER FOR A FUN SEASON!! **LEAGUES INCLUDE:** * 5-7 Week Season (varies by league) * We buy your team some welcome drinks each week! * Team player shirt in your requested size! * Food and drink specials at your sponsor bar! * Team victory bar parties for multiple league champs! **GET $20 OFF 16" SOFTBALL OR KICKBALL PLAYER FEES W/ PROMO CODE 'MEETUPHOOKUP' -- \*PLUS GIRLS GET 50% OFF 16" SOFTBALL!** **[SEE ALL LEAGUE OPTIONS, FULL DETAILS & REGISTRATION HERE](https://s3leagues.com/spring-leagues)** I hope you let me show you what makes S3 Simply Social Sports Leagues so popular and exciting.
