Centre for Talented Youth Ireland at Dublin City University is a not-for-profit organisation that works with high ability children aged 6 to 17. The Centre offers fast paced university style courses for academically talented students from all over Ireland and overseas. CTY Ireland students are assessed and identified to be in the top 5% of the population academically. Since its establishment in 1992 some 101,695 students have participated in classes run by CTYI.

CTYI aims to allow all talented students to reach their potential both academically and socially by providing relevant and interesting challenges based on ability and interest rather than age. Once a student is identified, CTY Ireland provides these challenging classes at DCU and other institutions around the country. These enrichment-style classes cover extracurricular areas that normally would not be studied until third level.

As well as assessments and programmes for gifted students and talent identification, CTY Ireland is engaged in education research on topics such as challenges faced by gifted students at school, effective supports for gifted students, twice exceptionality, social and emotional wellbeing and working with specific populations of gifted students in Ireland, including gifted students from marginalised and low-income backgrounds and gifted LGBTQ students. In collaboration with the university, CTY Ireland has produced multiple doctoral students and projects.
