The regional webinar "Advancing Inclusive, Climate-Resilient Commodity Landscapes: Lessons from SFITAL in Indonesia and the Philippines" brought together partners, practitioners, and policymakers to share key lessons and innovations from the four-year Sustainable Farming in Tropical Asian Landscapes (SFITAL) initiative. Coordinated by CIFOR-ICRAF with support from IFAD and in collaboration with MARS, Rainforest Alliance, and Kennemer Foods International, the project worked across national and sub-national levels to strengthen sustainable cacao in North Luwu of South Sulawesi, Indonesia, and Davao de Oro in the Philippines, and oil palm production systems in North Labuhanbatu, North Sumatra, Indonesia.
The session concluded with reflections from key private sector partners, who underscored the strength of the collaboration and its practical outcomes. Speakers celebrated the early impacts already visible on the ground, as well as the project’s clear and strategic exit approach. The webinar served not only as a platform to share knowledge but also to reaffirm a shared commitment to continued collaboration in transforming smallholder-based, forest-risk commodity systems into inclusive, climate-resilient, and deforestation-free landscapes.
