In 2000, BMC (then BioMed Central) made high quality research open to every reader – and in making the open access model sustainable, we changed the world of academic publishing.
We have consistently valued rigorous review and were one of the first publishers to have a dedicated research integrity team, building our reputation for publishing high-quality open access research.
BMC continues to partner with authors, editors, and reviewers to make research more discoverable, and to develop new approaches to peer review to give authors an efficient, transparent, and fair process.

Our journals and impact
