INTEGRATION · BUILT IN
GitHub is
built in.
Repository discovery, branch selection, PR reading, and installation-token minting are native. Your agent can understand your codebase without extra config.
Native app connection
UseAgent owns the GitHub App. You install it on your account. No customer OAuth setup needed.
Repository browsing
Agent clones repositories, reads file history, understands code context without external lookup.
PR and issue reading
Returns real PR data. Agent reads description, diffs, and comments.
Installation tokens
Short-lived tokens minted per turn. No long-lived secrets in the sandbox.
Straight talk: Read-only for now. GitHub write tools (create PR, merge, comment) are built in the approval lane but not yet requesting write permissions from customers.
Questions, answered.
How do I connect GitHub?
Click Connect GitHub in Settings. You'll install the UseAgent app on your account and select which repos it can access. That's it.
Can the agent commit and push?
Not yet. It can create commits in the sandbox and prepare a PR, but pushing requires your approval (GitHub write tools on the roadmap with approval gates).
Is my GitHub token safe?
Yes. We never store your personal token. The app uses installation tokens valid for one hour. Secrets stay in the backend, never in the sandbox.
