About Career Services at Gillings
Gillings Career Services is committed to creating an affirming space where students and alumni can explore and clarify their career goals, interests, and strengths. We understand that everyone’s professional journey is uniquely shaped by a range of values, identities, and aspirations. We offer personalized, person-centered support to help individuals plan and pursue meaningful career trajectories.
Health Policy and Management students, with the exception of MPH, are served by the Health Policy and Management Professional Development and Career Services Office.
Students in the MPH@UNC online degree program must visit the student portal for the MPH@UNC Program and click on Career to view the drop-down menu of services and resources. Contact your Student Success Advisor and they will connect you with resume review services and/or a career coach

We offer various in-person and virtual events throughout the academic year where students can connect with employers interested in hiring students, alumni working in public health, and other students.
Resources
Our Gillings Group on Heels Engage is available for students and alumni to access at any time and includes guides, videos and additional resources on various career preparation topics, public health careers, department-specific information, and more.
About our Career Services Staff
Our UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health Career Services Team includes 3 full time staff members dedicated to advancing the career and professional development of students and alumni. Gillings Career Services holds collaboration, care, growth, and innovation as integral values in providing high-quality career support.
Senior Executive Director for Career Services & Professional Development
Greg leads employer engagement strategy and supervises assistant directors. He develops alumni & student career programs, employer partnerships, and a life design course all while collaborating on career data and school-wide initiatives.
Assistant Director for Career Services & Employer Engagement
Lidia helps lead career coaching and support for Gillings residential students. She oversees programs, events, and assists in employer engagement to build talent pipelines and strengthen partnerships across UNC Chapel Hill and with the Gillings School.
Lidia meets with residential Students & Alumni in: Nutrition, Environmental Sciences & Engineering, Health Behavior, Maternal & Child Health
Assistant Director for Student and Alumni Career Services
Derek helps lead career coaching and support for both Gillings residential students and alumni. He designs career programs, manages career technology platforms, and coordinates events to enhance alumni career development.
