Oh I see, thanks for your brief explanation. It feels like in parts, this is still the case of people not really being welcome to newer people, especially when they have opposing views. Well, new female users seem to be more easily accepted than new or older male users. Also it seems like the topics that see more chatting are now the "comment what you're thinking" thread and similar variants
That's a pretty long time! ^^
I haven't changed my set since I've settled on it around 2018/2019 either, but these days, I just prefer lurking far more than actively taking part
There was a change in the recent years. Thanks to the inclusion of the conversation view, they have replaced the quote button with the reply. In case you haven't seen it, you can first switch the view back to normal by clicking on the top right here:
What's missing in the documentation/announcement posting is that at least on Desktop devices, you can highlight parts of the text and for normal boards, you can choose "Quote Reply" like here:
This will still auto-quote the whole response so in order to avoid it, you have to copy the BBCode to a complete "New Reply" text box. This is btw why multi-quoting has become a hassle.
In FG, the whole new reply system has been disabled automatically. So the only option would be to use "Copy" like in the following example which directly includes only the quoted part:
But back on track: it sounds pretty amazing if you were around for the beginning! I'm curious to hear about the events that lead to the creation of that chang thread and I don't really get why there are 4 official chat threads and like at least 2 more unofficial ones (last person wins and first thing that comes to mind)
In the last time, I've mostly seen you in threads that got bumped but you did post something in CD just a few years ago. I wonder if you have kept on using the same forum set. Otherwise: yes, if you significantly stop being active and haven't been somewhat famous or infamous for your postings, you can easily end up being forgotten
Broke my shoulder last month in a motorcycle accident, lost over 30 pounds, I'm completely bald now, I'm in therapy and I'm on meds
Just a lot of trying to move on from my issues, slow journey but we're getting there. I was depressed as hell and miserable for many years and it's still a massive struggle to this day. Honestly, seeing you makes me remember the Chang days and I honestly can't believe I wasted almost 3 years of my life there. My experience from that fucked me up for a long time, some of the worst people I've ever met in my life and we were all just horribly toxic to one another, it was a godawful environment and I should have just had the courage to leave much sooner. I never regretted leaving though.
It happens, maybe you'll be able to reconnect with them somehow. Even if people change I'm sure everyone has at least something in common - especially if they're on MAL :PPP you know what I mean?
You too! I saw you were sick a bit earlier in the year - glad you were able to get over it and get back to normal. I'm sure you're more in the way of a threat than I am :X (Which is weird saying, seeing as... well you know my job... )
I hope your job has been taking the proper precautions to keep everyone safe!!
(Also, nicethings/dizzyur/unamerican, whatever their name was... they weren't Chat Club, just uh, an opinionated girl who has since deleted their account completely from MAL and hopefully has moved on with life... I don't think MAL was healthy for her mental wellbeing, she would get really heated and type paragraphs about all sorts of things)
Man that guy sounds like a saint, what're you gonna do when he moves, or quits or dies? :P I guess it is a good workout - still a hard pass for me though. What do you do when you get buried for a week? Can you still go to work, or just wait it out, or walk? Does the town shut down? ð¤ð¤
Yes! I loved the show, so then I started playing the game, an now I wanna read the books. I see they're also doing some kind of anime film adaption as well? Should be interesting, hopefully they don't go the way of Game of Thrones s8.... You read the books?
