I thought this show was pretty good when I first started watching it, but suddenly, one night everything just clicked. I watched the first 6-7 episodes over the span of like 3 months. I watched the rest in the past 3 days.

I'd like to start by saying I watched the first 4 or so episodes in dub, and while the voice acting being sub par wasn't that hard to deal with, Hana's VA in english just does not suit her at all, like literally unbearable. If ur watching the dub just switch to sub its much better.

The first episodes are kinda stupid cuz its a ... lot of bitching and moaning from kakeru becuz they're just a bunch of amateurs there's no way they could make it to hakone ekiden. Little does he know they are anime mcs... Everyone else is also bitching and moaning about running so it can kinda drag a bit at first, but when they eventually start getting on the track and competing it just suddenly gets so much more interesting. But I think the thing that really sold this for me was the hakone ekiden race and, as precursor, the qualifier. All of a sudden every character was so amazing I can't really describe why. The whole event was some of the best stuff I've ever watched for no reason. Sorry if I'm not descriptive, but there really are no words for how it felt watching the whole thing. I especially liked Haiji cuz he was just way more complex and hard to pin down then all of the others, though not to say the others were bad. Also Haiji's reason for running and the answer were both vaguely pointless and confusing, which somehow I think fits his character.

I'm not very good with writing good reviews but just know there's like a 70% chance your gonna like it, prolly 30% you'll love it. Overall I don't know how to rank it cuz the second half is transcendentally better than the first, but I would prolly give it somwhere between and 8.8 and a 9. Like a little better or worse than frieren. But the hakone ekiden event is gen top 5 arcs I've ever watched. Probably.

I enjoyed it but truthfully its pretty mid. It was kinda interesting watching the dude beat the shit out of everyone. but as every naturally op mc story goes, it got boring eventually. Somewhere in the latter half of the story its shifts to the most im14andthisisdeep plotline of all time. I dont think the author's wisdom has progressed passed the age of 12. Also the fights were whatever bc every punch mister man threw was "too fast for the human eye". I don't have a lot good to say abt this, but I did read it with some content so it was all ... fine in the end. Also I haven't watched the spinoff jawns at the end so maybe those are better but idrc.

I'ma be real this show is garbage. Like completely pointless. But it does that thing where its so bad its good. Maybe because this is the first shitty newgen isekai I've watched but I actually like watching this show. The MC really could be so much worse, but his fake edgy stuff is so funny and his relationship with Amelia is just laughably stupid. The plot is stupid and generic so I don't really need to take it seriously, and even when the show isn't funny, it has it's flashes of something good, but mostly it's just brainrot that you can turn your thinking cap ... off to. Make no mistake this show is fundamentally garbage, but there's charm to that. Also the title is probably top 3 stupidest of this season. Nah but genuinely what could've possibly prompted anyone to make this an anime. I can't give it much higher than a 6 tho cuz its actually bad, but I'm enjoying it (for now, at least).

This anime is just as good as, maybe even better than, I expected. I really liked the title of the anime when I first heard of it, and I thought it could mean for a good show. Also most anime I've seen with a male mc with white hair are heat. I originally held off on watching it because I usually watch shows with dubs, but after watching the trailer it felt like I was potentially missing out on something amazing.

The Summer Hikaru Died is, firstly, beautiful art wise, and the animation is maybe not amazing but not much worse than that. Although the main ... draw of the anime is the plot, the impact of the atmosphere is set masterfully by the audio and visuals. The plot is essentially nothing crazy, but the way it develops had me hooked the entire way. Moreover, I think Yoshiki and Hikaru's dynamic is done really well in a way I haven't seen from many anime, bear in mind I haven't watched any anime like this, really. I like how chill a lot of the show is and how well it contrasts with the intense spikes of tension and drama. Just an off note, this anime is definitely at least gay adjacent, and I find it funny how the first 2 negative reviews on saw on this show on this site were just "i didnt know this was bl."

I don't know how to end this since I'm much better at being angry than happy. I also don't really know anything about animation and stuff so take stuff like that with a grain of salt. I don't think it's perfect, and I'm sure my opinion will change in the future when it all fully digests. But rn I really like this show a lot. 9.8/10

What was the point of this other than to say "Hey look, a youtuber made an anime." I'm not looking to be too harsh on this considering it's only 18 minutes (really 16) but I have no idea what I was supposed to take away from it. The story felt like it was something much bigger before being compacted by multiple magnitudes. It was cool to look at but thats about it. I don't think there was a purpose behind any of the decisions made, and if there was it wasn't shown clearly or interestingly enough. TLDR; a youtuber made an anime.

This show evokes a weird feeling out of me while thinking back about it, kinda of like a false sense of nostalgia. Every time I see screenshots or frames of this show I feel like it was a cool, dramatic, really interesting show but every time I think about it I can't ever remember anything being that interesting. I liked the ending but its no heartstring-puller. Nothing of this show particularly stands out as great but it is in no way a bad show. I was pretty invested in it for a day or two but I really don't know why. I can't say this ... is worth a watch just because it feels like it was supposed to be so much better than it was. I'd say it's the absolute middle road of romance animes. The romance is good, prolly somewhere between high 6 and low 8 out of ten, but that is geniunely the only theme ever explored. The insomnia thing is more or less irrelevant and just a means of initial bond between the two mcs. And astronomy club is essentially a larger off shoot of the same bonding purposes. I'm like 70% sure I finished the show disappointed, but I would still consider it nothing less (or frankly more) than solid. Maybe its my fault and I was just like "space cool stars cool very awesome interesting amazing 9/10 anime" but honestly coming in to the show without knowing what it was about (somehow) I woulda prolly clicked off of it during the first episode.

I like how all woman characters are boobs with a psuedo-personality. Really demonstrates the level of character design that took place in the smoke room of Studio Hibari. Also the fact that everyone is cliche makes it so I don't actually have to watch the show to know the characters, which is great, because i dont wanna watch the show. One of my least favorite parts of the show is how mr cool teacher guy has the worst haircut in anime history. Why is only one side of the taper showing, and the otherside is covered by 2010's blond emo guy with long hair but ... hair black anime style??? One of my most favorite parts of the show is that I can put it in 1.5x speed so it's actually paced well and I don't have to look at the screen cuz nothing of interest ever happens. The End.

i will (mostly) defend solo leveling for probably the rest of my life. it is a great action anime about a cool guy doing cool things in cool fights with cool animations. nothing more needs to happen. even besides that, episode two of season 1 is an absolute masterpiece that got me back into anime the first time i watched it. the monologue jinwoo had at the end was awesome and was probably the first time i ever felt something while watching one of those (i realize ts isnt relevant but still). many people will hate on its lack of plot depth and reliance on ... aura and hype moments, which is fair ig. But i'd like to say that it needs none of those to make a good show. saiki k is one of my favorite shows and it doesnt have a real plot til the final 6-ish episodes. if it does what it does best at the best level i see nothing wrong with it.

genuinely the most aggressively boring anime I've ever watched. I felt nothing but boredom while watching this. I can't call it a shit show cuz I wouldn't necessarily say its bad but holy is it nothing to note. I hate it so much for being so little. All humor in the show is cliche and safe, nothing funny was said the entire show. The cast of characters was mediocre at best and bad at worst. They all felt like watered down versions of stereotypical romcom characters. the plot was nothing revolutionary either. hiding behind loss of a loved one doesn't make up for the first ... half of the show being completely pointless especially considering the premise has been done a million times and at least 10 thousand times better than this. soooooo borring im getting bored just thinking about the show. tho i cant find anything terrible about the show besides how terribly okay it is so I am frustratingly forced to give it a five

garbage. had potential but dragged waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too long. why does every fucking character want to kill themselves with mc its insane. i get the whole abyss thing but the shtick gets boring after the 5th time. also why cant reiji ever make up his mind. he changes objectives every time he sees someone else. he claims to be devoted to three different ppl for various parts of the entire story and follows through with none of them. also fuck the teacher she was lame. i like the art and reiji and nagi but thats about it. also gen's gender dysphoria only being relevant for like ... 7 pages is weird cuz at that point why put it in at all. ig it explains the obsession with reijis mom but according to his first sexual expirience was because of her so his obsession couldve been called lust or stalker tendencies or something else if they were only gonna use the pretty girl thing for like 1 chapter
