It's weird, when Part 2 started, I had no idea where it was heading. Fast forward to when I dropped it, and I still had no idea where it was heading. However, I'm still excited for the anime since it'll adapt the best arc of the manga (International Assassins arc), and we'll probably get an announcement for the next season/movie after it.
ReSeinen Mar 24, 8:47 PM
Yup. I mean, I wouldn't know since I haven't read the final chapter, but I had to abandon ship when I did.

So hey, did you finish watching Symphogear yet? it's hard to rival Season 3 - but ...I honestly have watched them all as much as 4 times by now, and they get better for me on every re-watch. Season 4 and 5 are both pretty wild, so if you haven't, I absolutely want you to. It's in your own best interests, haha.

I don't know if they rival S3 - but they're on par at the very least.

They're both fun-filled and the plot toward the end, if you're into things like ancient history / mythology / texts, is fantastic. How many anime have the (*I went back and censored this so it wouldn't be a spoiler, cuz I looked at your list after commenting and don't want to spoil it*) in them? I only know of one, but there might be some others. I love the direction the plot headed, though. There's some fantastic moments in every season, even Season 2, the one I like the least, due to the boring "boss".

AXZ and XV are quite interesting seasons anyway, XV in particular brings some concepts together that bring in some past events and give them context that I particularly liked - like exactly what Gungnir is/was and why it matters, and why Hibiki can kill gods and why Miku remains a central character despite doing very little. As far as your list shows, you've seen at least to where Hibiki is able to kill beings infused with "divine power" when no one else can harm them.

The songs aren't QUITE as good as the 3rd season, but there's also the return of a ...character... that you will probably enjoy... in a way that doesn't seem cheap - it was obviously planned well in advance... (I refuse to say more) but there are a few songs that are pretty fun anyway... and of course some repeats. Some of them still get me into it, tho. I'm considering watching a couple random episodes right now, since I started ranting about them...

Hey, been a while. Do tell me your thoughts about speed grapher when you finish it, i was planning on watching it sometime
ReSeinen Mar 6, 12:14 PM
I didn't, I definitely need to check it out!! Thanks for letting me know.

The start is a bit wonky, but that's mostly due to the CGI wolves. But in all honesty, that didn't hamper my enjoyment at all (that's why I've stuck by the anime all these years). The VA work is great, can't imagine Ogata without Kenjiro Tsuda's unique voice. The same goes with Hijikata and Tsurumi.

I FORGOT THE TOP AAAAAH!

That Air Gear music was pretty good! Love the techno sound of Love Sensation. Other anime OSTs I like (aside from the ones I mentioned before)

One Outs:

Hajime no Ippo:

And Initial D (though that's kind of cheating since Eurobeat is very good music to get pumped up by! A very good anime addition.)

I think individual OSTs are harder for me to name (unlike OPs), but these ones are some that pop out to me.
ReSeinen Feb 20, 9:01 AM
I used to listen to the Kaiji OST while reading Usogui and Liar Game just to get into that gambling mindset lol. I'd pick the ones you share, of course, but I also like these ones a lot:

Kaiji just wouldn't be the same without the Hideki Taniuchi music; Death Note's and Akagi's OSTs are also great.

Incidentally, do you have another favorite anime OST? Mine would probably be Shigurui because it complements the tense and creepy atmosphere of that series so well.

Aibō, I finished bookworm! It was excellent. Not gonna lie it had me in tears at least twice. Watching Myne ascend, grow and learn is an experience I would recommend to everyone ^_^.

Not quite the same but Mushikaburi-hime has a manga and protags love of books is just as obsessive as Myne's. More of a shojo romcom/princess kind of thing though. Might not be your cup of tea. Not on your manga list:

Gosick:

Doctor elise
https://myanimelist.net/manga/130806/Doctor_Elise__The_Royal_Lady_with_the_Lamp

and a personal favourite that I see is already on your reading list is Kusuriya:

^Not an isekai but many similar dimensions to bookworm.

I heard I am so exited! Ending H of BS2 fucked me up and I have needed this game to come out just to experience more red hood. I cant believe how many things are getting sequels this year its awesome!

:o Exciting stuff! I did start madoka but I stopped for some reason and can't remember why. Probably a great time to get into it and watch them all! :) I distinctly remember being interested because it was like a subversion of the "magical girl" anime. I love when writers do that kind of thing.

Bookworm slipped under the radar for me. I've heard nothing about it, nor seen anything. You've piqued my interest for sure. I'm a sucker for well written isekais that aren't just "tropes" and fights :P

Thank you! I'll gladly admit Hayate is very mid! but it was the first show I ever watched before I became a full fledged weeb. It's very special to me but I would not recommend it to anybody xD My absolute favourite now is Frieren super hyped for season 2.

Also super hyped for the next season of Jobless, I think it's July 2026? My favourite isekai, fantastic world building and character development, beautiful animation, the works! My only gripe is it's a little too pervy sometimes but there are a few niche scenarios where it's used as a writing tool and not just fan service(although there's definitely that!).

Will definitely give Bookworm a look though and let you know what I think of it! ^_^

It's been so long since I was on this consistently it feels like imposter syndrome @.@

I have a lot of updating to do!

Happy new year by the way!

Got anything you're super hyped to read or watch lately? ^_^
Murt Jan 10, 1:33 PM
Sorry, I slept in :o
DCCX3 Jan 7, 1:55 PM
and then all a sudden it's on Steam and now they are all playing the games. xD

Dude I know exactly how you feel, I have experienced pretty much the same thing lmfao.

Definitely, the anime a pretty good adaption of the light novels so I would recommend it. Plus we're getting season 4 this year and it seems like the budget went up 10 fold with Wit Studio working on it.

Sounds like you are eating good. I hope season 3 of Mushoku Tensei gets the same treatment with better staff and animation because I think the anime is a great adaptation of the LN but the downgrade in animation quality of season 2 was really sad to see.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
