The 11th and final episode of "Oshi no Ko" 3rd Season ([Oshi No Ko] Season 3) ended with an announcement on Thursday that the final season is in production. The official website also revealed an announcement visual (pictured) and promo.

Produced by Doga Kobo, the 11-episode first season premiered with a 90-minute special in Japanese theaters in March 2023, followed by the regular broadcast in Spring 2023. The 13-episode second season aired in Summer 2024, while the third season premiered on January 14. HIDIVE and Crunchyroll streamed the anime with subtitles and a dub in multiple languages.

Shueisha began publishing the manga in English on its Manga Plus platform in April 2022. Yen Press licensed the manga in English in July 2022 and released the 12th volume on December 16 last year. The 13th volume is planned for an April 28 release.

I can only imagine how many people are excited for this.

Anime only's are not ready for what is coming, a generational awful ending that will make everyone feel horrendous and to rethink their life and the time they have wasted in this garbage. The salt will be legendary!

I know there are a lot of people who want the ending to be completely changed, but let's be honest, that's not happening. Because despite how unpopular it is, it's still Aka's vision.

The best we can hope for is that it'll be fleshed out with original scenes that help it feel less rushed and nonsensical, though even that might be a stretch. Even so, I have faith that Doga Kobo will do the best with what they've been given, as their production has been extraordinary thus far.

@dazedcowcow62 The live-action film already tried this, almost completely changing the characters' motivations and the sequence of events. But people still destroyed it at the box office once it was revealed the ending would remain essentially the same. Hell, I literally saw Japanese fans in the trailer discussion asking for the ending to be changed.

Horikoshi and Isayama atleast had some concept and idea behind their endings, here they literally have to reinvent things for "it" to make any sense.

Honestly, I'm no longer mad at how badly executed the the ending was in the manga. It actually excited me more LOL

Definitely confident that Tanaka and Hiramaki will rewrite it without even changing the original blueprint, making the anime more acceptable and looking as if it's really AOT & MHA Part 3 x

@bastek66 At least the ending of Chainsaw Man part 2 was just meh. In the case of Oshi no Ko, it's literally the title's romanticized suicide, both figuratively and literally.

@Yubisoft @tacotuttle I won't go into details to avoid spoilers, but yes, the ending is so bad it's almost charming. There's a reason why, while recent years have been littered with horrific endings to hyped-up works, the ending of Oshi no Ko has become synonymous with a terrible ending. Even Japanese commenters were asking Doga Kobo to change the ending.

@TransferUser They never fix shitty manga ending. When will you learn. Expect Kagaya's final movie to be even worse since kAka writes it.

@Yu_Ishigami_ Manga ended 1,5 year ago and it was bad just like Chainsaw man yesterday.

Season 3 just ended and they already announced final season ? 😭

@Yubisoft why the hate on Aka Akasaka? I loved reading Kaguya-sama, personally.

I’m not holding my breath that they’ll change the ending but it’s always nice to see something get a full adaptation.

I just hope they fix that awful ending.

Despite being decently written it's completely terrible, but easy to rectify.

Mar 25, 10:04 AM by TransferUser

oh my god, it's ending already?? where has the time gone...
well this is gonna be fun to see play out as the reactions to the manga's ending was disastrous

Into the final stretch. Don't feel like experiencing it again but will be there in hopes of an original end.

I have never and will never read a manga from this author but I heard he made an especially bad ending for this manga series. Can't wait for when the final episode of this final season airs. I will surely keep an eye on X and grab some popcorn
