The 15th issue of Weekly Shounen Jump magazine published the 25th and final chapter of Gege Akutami and Yuuji Iwasaki's Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo manga on Monday.

Akutami and Iwasaki began serializing the spin-off manga on the Weekly Shounen Jump Magazine in September 2025. Shueisha shipped the second volume on March 4 and will release the third and final volume on May 1. VIZ Media and Manga Plus are publishing the manga digitally in English.

Akutami serialized Jujutsu Kaisen in Weekly Shounen Jump from March 2018 to September 2024. Shueisha published the 30th and final volume in December 2024. VIZ Media released the 29th volume in English on February 17, with the 30th and final volume scheduled to go on sale on May 12.

Synopsis
In 2086, Naunax, an extraterrestrial mothership carrying 50 thousand life-forms calling themselves Simurians, appears above Earth. Simurians possess powers similar to those of Japan's jujutsu sorcerers, and thus all diplomatic negotiations are redirected to the Japanese, who are tasked with assessing whether coexistence is possible.

Though facing a special grade incident rivaling Sukuna Ryoumen's attack 68 years prior, humanity welcomes the aliens—for now. Fearing that these powerful beings could declare war, Japan agrees for a Simurian envoy to accompany jujutsu sorcerers to school and missions. Two teenage sorcerers—Yuuka and Tsurugi Okkotsu, siblings and grandchildren of the late Yuuta Okkotsu and Maki Zenin—are chosen to team up with Marulu "Maru" Val Vol Yelvori, a friendly, three-eyed Simurian. As both sides withhold crucial details yet want eventual harmony, it falls to Yuuka, Tsurugi, and Maru to maintain the fragile peace and prevent mutual ruin. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

XD @Sleabedybarb has is exactly fucking right.

At first everyone was hating on the art and I didn't get it, the art was beaut. And everyone was glazing the writing and I didn't get that either. With something running for 6 months, we didn't have time to run around in the forest looking for flying sharks...and we definitely didn't have tine for a hundred random characters to be introduced/brought back just for them do do absolutely diddly fucking squat.

The longer it went on the more I was convinced that Gege has absolutely no idea what a storyboard even is.

He assassinated Yuji's character completely. Made story choices that absolutely don't make in universe sense. Decided to explain Dabura's horns, and a major feature of his entire race, in extra meterial most people haven't even got yet. Finished the ONE GOOD THING off screen. Reduced an entire race's religion to nothing but a nonchalant sacrifice. Changed character's personalities on a whim. Produced a Deus Ex Machina CT that can...be consulted..? Reduced women to absolutely nothing. Got rid of all the stakes. And confused the absolute fuck out of me by calling birds that were connected to MeiMei's CT NEW SHADOW STYLE BIRDS.
I mean, that's just the things off the top of my head. I could LITERALLY write for at least an hour straight about what I hate in this thing.

I'm glad I don't have to waste my time on this any more. And 'keep up with the next prohect between Gege and Yuji?' Absolutely not. No thankyou. Yuji, sure. Gege, never. Absolutely never. Fool me once and all that.

@Catalano Not axed, it was already planned to be a very short serialization. They just didn't say the exact number of chapters back then.

Damn I did not expect that and just when it started to flesh out.

@Catalano, because it is dull and hard to read.

surprised it got axed so early

I am not surprised, usually sequels are more shady than original, more so with JJK.

Mar 9, 1:53 AM by Memore

@Adnash Yeah it was an official sequel but it was planned to be a short serialization from the start.

25 chapters would be like a movie or 8 episodes right?

Mar 8, 6:55 PM by Blue_Maroon

Huh, wasn't it supposed to be an official sequel or something? I thought it would be longer than just 25 chapters.

Mar 8, 6:51 PM by Adnash

I enjoyed it more than the original
