Shinsei Galverse

Honestly, I am out of words for this.

Shinsei galverse has everything needed in anime: original arstyle, creative character design, amazing voice cast, and great accesibility.
So first, its arstyle is referencing to '90 anime arstyle, which is extremely good. You might have thought 'Oh no, they don't make anime like those from '90 these days, nowadays all anime look the same', and shinsei galverse proves you wrong. It gives hope, that it's not the last anime like that.
I'm really suprised that animators not only drew characters in creative style, but also each character has original design. Even if it is short anime, there are plenty of ... characters with different fashion sense, different skin colours (which is not so common in anime), variery of colours. And all of them look just awesome. Just looking at them gives you pleasure. I respect shinsei galverse for that.
Also, they hired right voice actors, which at least I wasn't expecting. For example, D.D voice actress also voices Jolyne from JoJo, Ring - Ermes from JoJo, Ranran - Pikachu. And this time they also gave their best.
Last, but not least - accesibility. Anime that air in tv are quite accesible, since you can find them in common streaming services. Problemy usually comes with onas and ovas and less popular anime. It's really an issue when you cant find anime you want to watch anywhere or when you have to pirate anime. With shinsei galvarse you don't have to worry! You might not believe this but anime OFFICIALY published work online, on youtube. Thanks to that anyone can watch it with subtitles.

Overall, I think it is really great anime, without unnecessary extension, wonderful and meaningful plot, nice characters, perfect animation style. I highly recommend you to watch it (⁠◠⁠‿⁠・⁠)⁠—⁠☆

I thought Shinsei Galverse was very interesting. I loved the aesthetics and character designs in the OVA. Most of all, I loved the premise of there being 8,888 unique Gals that could be discovered in the future. I'm left wanting more but, at the same time, I feel like we were given too much? My boyfriend and I joked that we got a whole season's worth of anime in just 22 minutes, and I think that's a very accurate description of the OVA.

If this were ever made into a series of some kind, I'd want the pacing to slow down drastically. There's a lot of ... potential here though.

I'll be blunt: This was likely the longest 22 minute anime I've ever seen, to the point that I started to wonder if I hadn't misread "One hour and 22 minutes" instead.

It's premise is simple, it's trying to got for that 90's aesthetic: That Slayers/Saber Marionette J artstyle, a Sci-Fi setting, bishoujo, etc
Likewise, it has a nice background art, a nice artstyle, top tier seiyuu and some of the character designs are cool... but that's kinda it.

Oh boy, for something that's trying to emulate 90's bishoujo, there are some character designs, like D.D. with her mix of dreads and baldness (In fact, the way foreheads ... are drawn kinda make it seem that half of the characters are balding... and then there are the ones who are actually bald), in a way that sells it like this: A copy, mimesis, a simulacrum. Just compare it to actual 90's bishoujo Sci-fi anime like Ginga Ojousama Densetsu Yuna and you'll know what I'm talking about.

The story is... a mess? It's extremely rushed, even though not much happens, and it's filled to the brim with exposition, a total failure in the "show, don't tell" department.
It's all over the place: Some scenes drag for too long, and at the same time it doesn't give us enough time to care about any character there, really. The animation is nothing spectacular either.

...and when you learn that it all exists to shill NFTs, things start to fall into place.
If you really want to watch an anime built around a system that makes you spend obscene amounts of money in order to gain a waifu, just watch Gacha adaptations like a normal person.
