One Punch Man 3

Earth is saved by heroes for now, but the large-scale battle between the Hero Association and the Monster Association is far from over. The dangerous hero hunter Garou is still on the loose despite the efforts to capture him, and the Monster Association has abducted a notable figure, leaving the Hero Association in turmoil. With a strict deadline for the rescue, the heroes set out in search of the monsters' hideout.

Though he is heavily injured, Garou is recruited by the Monster Association in the hope of making him a part of the leadership. In order to ascend the ranks, the hero hunter must first prove that he is ready to give up on his humanity by killing a hero. It does not take long for Garou to find his victim, but that very person is the oblivious Saitama, who effortlessly knocks him out.

This humiliating defeat causes Garou to be branded as a traitor by the monsters. Moreover, the next clash between the two associations approaches rapidly. As both sides are ready to engage in any tactics and use any pawns at their disposal, the safety of the world is at their mercy.

I finished watching it, and honestly, it wasn’t that bad at all. I know a lot of people seem to dislike it or had mixed reactions, but for me, it was actually pretty decent and enjoyable overall. I’d give it around an 8/10. It definitely had some flaws here and there like that could’ve been handled better but nothing that completely ruined the experience for me. There were still plenty of scenes I liked, and I stayed interested the whole time. In the end, I think it’s better than people give it credit for. Hopefully, they continue the story and give us a season 4, ... because I’d really like to see what happens next even though I fully read the manga.

Mixed Feelings

Season 3 of One Punch Man delivers a solid continuation of the series, but it doesn’t quite reach the heights that we might have hoped for after the first 2 seasons. While it’s definitely enjoyable, it feels more like a “good” season rather than a truly standout one.

On the positive side, the story remains engaging, especially with the continued development of the Monster Association arc. The stakes feel higher, and there’s a stronger focus on side characters, which adds depth to the overall narrative. Characters like Garou are still cool and interesting, offering some of the most enjoyable moments for this season. The humor is ... still present as well, with Saitama’s deadpan attitude providing a few genuinely funny scenes.

However, the season also has its flaws. The pacing can feel uneven at times, with certain episodes dragging while others rush through important moments. The animation, while decent overall, lacks the consistent polish and impact that made earlier seasons—especially Season 1—so memorable. Some fight scenes feel less dynamic than expected, which is disappointing for a series known for its spectacular action.

Another downside is that Saitama himself feels somewhat sidelined. While the focus on other characters is interesting, it sometimes comes at the expense of the main character’s presence and impact.

One Punch Man Season 3 is a good watch with cool moments, but definetely not top tier like the 2 previous ones.

The third season of One Punch Man definitely feels like a drastic drop in quality. Most noticeably, the animation in many of the fight scenes feels stiff, lacking in detail, and lacking the energy that once characterized the series. For an anime renowned for its spectacular action, this is clearly disappointing.

Story wise, the plot feels messy. The focus often shifts without a clear direction, making it difficult for viewers to follow the core conflict. Many scenes feel like filler, without contributing significantly to the plot's development.

The characters are also underutilized. Other characters aren't given enough development, making it difficult to care about their fates.

The humor, ... once a key strength, also feels stale. The jokes tend to be repetitive and no longer provide a fresh impact. Even moments that should be funny fall flat.

Overall, this season fails to capture what made One Punch Man special. With declining animation, an unfocused story, and weak humor, this third season deserves a 4/10 rating only suitable for die hard fans who want to stay with the story.
