Ya She

Ya She is a beautiful donghua with an interesting theme that excels in storytelling and cultural atmosphere. This anime is ideal for viewers who enjoy thoughtful, historical stories and Chinese mythology. However, it does not seem suitable for those looking for fast-paced action or traditional anime clichés.

One of Ya She’s strengths is its unique narrative concept of using antiques as vessels to tell deeply emotional and historically inspired stories.
The episodic structure allows the series to blend different periods and events of Chinese history and fantasy in an informative and engaging way. The different stories focus more on themes of love, loss, sacrifice, and reincarnation – ... giving the series a quiet but profound depth. Together, these elements make Ya Sheh a standout for those interested in subtle, cultural storytelling.
The visual style, with its delicate, watercolor-inspired animation and beautiful character designs, lends the series a mysterious atmosphere.

Despite its artistic and thematic strengths, Yasha isn't perfect. The episodic format, while creative, often leads to an uneven pace, and some of the stories feel rushed or incomplete. The animation is good, but the movements aren't very fluid, so action scenes look dry or limited.

یا شه یک دونگهوای زیبا با تمی جالب است که در داستان سرایی و فضای فرهنگی سرآمد است. این انیمه برای بینندگانی که از داستان های متفکرانه، تاریخی و اساطیر چینی لذت می برند، ایده آل است. با این حال، برای کسانی که به دنبال اکشن سریع یا کلیشه های سنتی انیمه هستند، مناسب به نظر نمی رسد.

ساختار اپیزودیک به سریال اجازه می‌دهد تا دوره‌ها و رویدادهای مختلف تاریخ چین و فانتزی را به صورت آموزنده و جذاب ترکیب کند. داستان های متفاوت بیشتر برمضامین عشق، فقدان، فداکاری و تناسخ متمرکز است و به سریال عمقی آرام و عمیق می‌بخشد. این عناصر در کنار هم، یا شه .را به اثری برجسته برای کسانی که به داستان‌سرایی ظریف و فرهنگی علاقه مندند، تبدیل می کند

با وجود نقاط قوت هنری و موضوعی، یاشا بی‌نقص نیست. قالب اپیزودیک، اگرچه خلاقانه است، اما اغلب منجر به ریتم نامرتب می‌شود و برخی از داستان‌ها شتاب‌زده یا ناقص به نظر می‌رسند. انیمیشن خوب است، اما حرکات خیلی روان نیستند، بنابراین صحنه‌های اکشن خشک یا محدود به نظر می‌رسند.

In the first episode you get a glimpse of the MC's struggle and where the story wants to go to. Afterwards, it get's very episodic - each episode containing a side story without or very little connection to the main objective.

Episodic can be done well or poorly - and for this show it sadly is the latter. When there is only one episode to tell a whole story, there is the danger of rushing things and that's the point where this show slipped up in my opinion.
While the first few stories were intriguing, they soon became boring because every one of them follows ... the same pattern. Characters are introduced poorly - some just stumble in getting no introduction at all. At this point, as a viewer it's very hard to build up a connection to side characters. At the same time the show tends to jump from one plotpoint to the next as if chased by something, leaving almost no room for viewers to indulge in the drama and catch on to what the characters are going through.
The main characters are shrouded in mystery, you don't even really know their relationship with each other and yet again your not able to build a connection to them. In the end the pieces come together. But sadly there is no time for some good foreshadowing and when the mystery unravels.. yeah, it just unravels... nothing more or less. Mystery should be like when you eat out at a fancy restaurant and they serve you those tiny dishes, but they get a little bigger each time, you start to develop theories about the next dish, wait - was the decor you just ate for eating ? - and then there's the grand finale. Most of the time - like in this show - mystery is one first plate served with food, the next plates are empty or contain leftovers of the first plate which just leaves you puzzled and at the very end everything they didn't serve you until then is dumped onto the last plate. That's not elegant mystery nor tasty.

This lack of connection towards characters, mystery done wrong and the rushed pace make the actions of characters appear dumb and the drama feeling overly dramatic - as if begging for some compassion - and tarnishing the hidden messages.
Beautiful animations can't make up for this.

Another watch that started promising, grew to be boring and resolved into thin air. If beautiful animations can't make up for a rushed pace or you're not searching for that one supernatural side story that may hook you with it's hidden message than this show probably isn't for you.

I do not get why this series reviews are so high, this is horrible! The voice acting is incredibly annoying and cheap. The story is ridiculous, it is trying to be too much at once but failing. For example take the first story, it is so extreme! Then how can you compare a toy with the loss of a living being? Then why are these stories so lame when it comes to being in love? I don't get the characters behaviors. I guess I'm one of the few that have not enjoy it so it might be a me thing. I'm not judging your ... taste, if you enjoy it, great, but it was not for me.
