Both have the adult main character growth led by the children surrounding them. Although Usagi Drop feels more dramatic, while Barakamon is more subtle to send a message to the viewers. Both are excellent slice-of-life anime and with great character development. And the feels.

The second  I saw this coming out I got so excited because it reminded me so much of Usagi Drop, one of my favorite slice-of-lives. Energetic, eccentric, sort of wild little girls coming along and brightening the lives of stuffy guys away from the city, these stories both share this plot. The art work is also similar, as well as the laid-back, vibe. 

Both little girls are funny and endearing, and both men are subdued at first but of course fall for the amazing kids personalities.

A guy stumbles upon taking care of a young girl that he didn't expect to take care of. Though the differences are, Usagi Drop is more dramatic than Barakamon, which is more of a silly little light-hearted comedy.

The main lead characters share an unique bond throughout both series despite their contrasting differences from the beginning. There's an initial development as they learn more about each other and what they enjoy in life. The main male protagonist shares similar personalities and at times can become frustrated at certain events. However, they often take on life as it is with smiles and joy. When it comes down to it, relationship dynamics are a key focus in both series. Recommended for any viewers interested in a charming slice of life.

No, I'm not linking these two together because they're both about an adult male taking care of a little girl. Both of these shows make you feel at home and have tons of SOL symbollism that link to morals and themes you would find in real life. Both of these shows tackle family values and realistic character growth. 

The only difference is that Barakamon is focused on Handa's career (the adult) while Usagi Drop is focused on how Daikichi's life and how he adapts because of Rin.

Both shows feature an adult being close and caring for a kid (in a non-creepy way) and they're both cute. The differences are that in Barakamon there's the element of the main character's calligraphy career and they're on an island like the countryside but in Usagi Drop there's only the one theme of caring for the kid.

Barakamon and Usagi Drop are about an adult with a kid hanging around with him. Barakamon is more about a carefree lifestyle while Usagi Drop is bit more seriousness in it since it is within family relationship. While Usagi Drop contain a lot of character development throughout the series, Barakamon is more towards slice of life anime around the village without any romance.

Both anime give out heartwarming feeling while watching them, you will definitely think of one another anime if you're already watching one of them.

Both is about how children's can change a persons life.But not just that.Really funny,loving,cute, also some parts are really touching.Great animes with a sence of summer that you can't avoid  falling in love with them!!

The main character is an adult who develops alongside a precocious and endearing child with whom he forms a strong, realistic bond. Barakamon is more humorous and Usagi Drop is more heartwarming, but both shows are quite similar and enjoyable to watch.

When you just want a good, clean story about a man having to live in harmony with a child that's not his. The two anime also compliment each other by masterfully intervolving normal, daily events into bonding exercises between the adults and the children. Just for your own sake, perhaps consider avoiding the Usagi Drop manga if you're interested in it ~

Both male characters play a substitute role of parent with a child who wants nothing more than to be happy.
Both influence each other and are influenced by those around them and show how simply is to get happiness.

Both Anime have a really relaxed story telling about a more adult character.
The plot is completely different but both anime have this magical "relaxed" feeling while you are watching the episodes piece by piece. It's the perfect Anime after a stressfull day.
(Also the humour from both shows are just hilarious)

Both are slice-of-life-ish but not necessarily episodic, both involve MCs who are a tad short of middle age and in career ruts, both show MCs making positive strides in their respective social developments, both involve really fun realistic child characters, both are short sweet shows, and both involve pretty artwork and very little "action".

Barakamon isn't about parenting which is one of Usagi Drop's things, but there are tons of similarities nonetheless.

I personally preferred Barakamon to Usagi Drop as the former showed a bit more character development but the difference isn't massive. Good shows both and worth a try even for people who normally don't care for slice of life&nbspread more

Both are slice of life animes that involve adult to child relationships.  Both animes involve protagonists that are suddenly thrown into unfamiliar social environments but but adapt to their situations and build character from their experiences.  They are both refreshingly realistic in the way the characters interact with one another and how they handle change.  Usagi Drop is more realistic than Barakamon in the relationship between its characters, but the latter compensates with the synergy formed by the personality gap between its characters.

Both Barakamon and Usagi drop are feel-good slice of life shows with a story or theme centered around children and their impact on an adults life (with this being slightly more prominent in Usagi Drop, with neither of the two possessing any "fantastical" or out of the ordinary (in regards to real life) aspects.

Either show is likely to leave you feeling warm inside by the end of it's run.

Both anime have a lighthearted, playfull air with occasionally some deeper elements. The comedy itself is similar  in both anime and serves as a nice extra without being relied upon. The story in both anime focuses on the lives of a still kind of young, single man, looking for his place in the world. A small girl plays an important role in both of their searches.

both deal with a friendship between an adult man and an unusual young girl near-flawlessly and are refreshingly free of awkward tropes. Usagi Drop is more focused on the struggle of a new parent, while Barakamon focuses more on the friendship involved, but in both cases it is handled very sensitively and leaves you with a warm fuzzy feeling.

If you like children, you will definitely enjoy both. They both are set where a male adult is living with children surround them. The characters are all lovable and enjoyable to watch. However, Usagi drop has a dramatic setting in which Daikichi needs to adapt his "new" way of living with Rin while Barakamon has a "Slice of life/Comedy" tone to it.

Both anime are similar in story and character where both anime tells the story about a male adult take care of girl. The girl isn't similar but the similar things is how the MC get troubled with every thing concerning the girls. It's fun and it's a good anime to watch when you're tired and need some entertainment.

They're both heartwarming and simplistic which will calm your mind. Both shows have unusual family circumstances and the main character learns how to adjust to their odd circumstances. It maturely handled themes with the importance of family values/morals in a subtle manner.

Both are similar in a lot of ways especially in terms of the artstyle and the chemistry with Handa Sei and Kotoshi Naru is very similar to the relationship in Usagi Drop with Kawachi Dai and Kaga Rin. 

While Usagi Drop is more of a drama rather then being a light hearted comedy it does have a couple of funny scenes with the character interactions both have really lovable characters but in my opinion personally out of the two shows I like Usagi Drop a little more because it's main story is more developed and impactful I prefer Barakamon for it's comedy and slapstick humor both are Great Slice of Life anime in my opinion I highly recommend you watch both.&nbspread more

These anime are based on an adult and a child where the adult behaves like a fatherly figure and takes care of the child and treats them like their own children.

Both of these shows share an extremely similar dynamic with the main character and a younger child they meet, basically a parent-child relationship. They're both filled with joyful moments but also some emotional moments. You'll notice that throughout the show that not only the main character teaches the child important life lessons but you'll also notice the child teaching the adult some small but important lessons they forgot about when they got older with age. These are some of my favorite anime of all time but please don't look at the Usagi Drop ending or manga after a certain point lol.

The main similarity with Usagi Drop and Barakamon is that both of them have lots of heartfelt messages to share. While the latter is a bit more light and relaxed, the former showcases a bit more dramatic atmosphere to inspire some mellow emotions from the viewer. Now as for the character persona, it'd be weird if you didn't notice the very apparent resemblance (as that is the the biggest correspondence of all for both).

Suddenly, the hero(ine) decided to move to countryside to break free from the hustle and the bustle of everyday city life. Comedy may not be both of strong points of the series however, the country environment is enough to make you relax.

A bunch of kids living in a rural town. Similarly cozy vibes, sense of community, and small-town feel. The characters are all distinct and enjoyable. Both shows have a surprising amount of character growth. If you want a relaxing, heartwarming, and generally fluffy series, you can't go wrong with either of these.

A main character living away from the crowded cities. The essence of a slice of life show. Non Non Biyori and Barakamon gives off a charming elegance with its atmosphere and setting. Both series may lack a linear storyline or complex plot twists. However, they make it up with its exquisite adaptation of its comedy. The dialogues are engaging, the characters are realistic, and the relationship dynamics are memorable. I recommend both series for anyone who is looking for a fun slice of life show.

Both anime revolve about a character who moves to a remote place wich is not as modern as the cities whe are  used to.
They both are slice of life with realy good humor.
And they both have that cute character we all like. 
I realy think people will like both if they like one of it.

The only diference,is about the MC,because in Barakamon,is a guy and a little girl,while in Non Non Biyori is a group of four girls...

Due to certain events relating to family, the starting protagonist is now living in the countryside after moving from Tokyo. They discover the adventure of their new lifestyle, with a mischievous number of friends leading the way. Both shows take their time to create a refreshing yet humorous atmosphere, enriching the beauty of the countryside exceptionally well.

There are many similar things that I experienced while watching them. 

First of all they both sooth me like there's no tomorrow, it's so relaxing to watch them, really a stress reliever.

Secondly they have this super cute adorable child characters which are so much fun to watch, kids are just awesome, I really enjoyed that. (PS I am not into lolicon, Okay!?)

Thirdly the setting in a remote place far away from the crowded city or crowded places in general. This setting in a village, I just love it!

And there are many more things like friendship, teamwork, heartwarming moments here and there and light hearted comedy sprinkled like everywhere. (That's been said I chuckled more during watching Barakamon than Non Non Biyori, not a comparison just letting you know)

So yeah! That pretty much sums up the 'Experience'. If you are looking for something like this then go for it!&nbspread more

Both are set in idyllic rural areas. We see the characters enjoying small things in life. Summer vacation in the countryside is also a common theme. Both the shows are soothing, hilarious and surprisingly insightful. The carefree nature of the characters is infectious, they make the viewer realize that we are as happy as we choose to be.

Simple anime . They live simple but happy lives.
The comedy is really good in this anime . It's peaceful when you thought it's just a boring anime of them living in the country side yet they show you different kind of fun things to while you''re there, surrounded by good people.

One thing which is integral to both of these shows is relaxing atmosphere set in rural parts of Japan. Most of the cast in both shows consists of young children although, Barakamon's main character is adult unlike NNB where adults are supporting cast.

Barakamon and Non Non Biyori. Both introduce a character from Tokyo, from the big city to a place in the countryside, where he learns about his traditions and culture, and relates to the people of the town, and more with a group of children. Both convey the beauty of nature, the innocence of childhood, the value of friends, and the few things that life offers you, which can become a great treasure.

I think both series are very similar because i felt the same way while i was watching them, both are very relaxing "slice of life"  with good comedy.

The plot has a big similarity, both animes follow the life of someone that move to the country, and there, this character meet country children.

If you liked one of them, I'm almost sure you'll like the other.

Both portray life in the country side of Japan where the characters are quite deprived of technology and shows how beautiful and peaceful the world is. It makes us appreciate those times when we are connected to nature. There are also quite some funny moments added in. And more cute things.

The main characters, Hotaru in Non Non Biyori and Handa in Barakamon both move from city to countryside at the beginning. 
Both series show a simple, pure and happy lifestyle away from crowded and noisy cities. If you are fond of the atmosphere of one anime, I'm sure you'll like the other one.
Renge in Non Non Biyori and Naru in Barakamon are both cute pupil lolis, so Lolicon can also enjoy them.

These anime are very similar is many aspects and they both contain:
- A main character that move to a small town and adapt to their new environment
- Young kids that show the new member around the town and become good friends
- Set in the countryside with a town of small population
- Similar sounding and soothing soundtracks

Both these shows are spectacular examples of the slice of life genre. They both have settings in countryside Japan and follow the adventures of children having fun being children. Barakamon has more of a plot in that there is a running backstory in all of the episodes, which can be good or bad, depending on your preference. In both shows, a main character moves to the countryside from Tokyo, and they both come to love the countryside.

Both are very similar Slice of life anime, with no real story and only a small number of characters. Speaking of character, you will find a child starring in both, with the same feeling of "real kid" that most anime with children lack. No sexual stuff or creepy things, just pure cuteness and clever character development.

If the similarity in character design wasn't enough, Udon no Kuni gives me the same fluffy vibes that Barakamon did. The protagonists are trying to find themselves under their own circumstances and then a young child/(or tanuki, in Udon no Kuni) enters their lives. Both series have a very similar feel and I highly recommend watching one if you have watched the other.

Barakamon is a great anime to watch if you liked this, because even though there isn't udon or tanukis, they both focus on a man moving from the busyness of Tokyo to a quiet, countryside like area. In both anime, they slowly become close to the people around them and the area.

In Poco's Udon World, Souta Tawara becomes close to a tanuki child called Poco. But in Barakamon, Seishuu Handa gains relationships with all sorts of people- including a little girl called Naru. Because these anime both show relationships in a rural area and the struggle of being away from the city, I suggest this anime.&nbspread more

Souta is like the older version of Handa. They even share the similar personality and facial expression xD
So, if you like Handa a lot and want to see another character who looks like him, go watch Udon no Kuni no Kiniro Kemari.

Sadly UKKK is an anime for shotacons while Barakamon is an anime more for lolicons

Both series have a male adults that move to an island and met the kid. As the story goes on the kid and the adults often together and the male lead often take care of the kid.

The difference is the kid in Udon is a boy and the kid in Barakamon is a girl. 
The job of the male lead is different too

The character designs are super similar, but not only that both have the same vibe. A city boy goes to a rural area taking a break of work, there they form new relationships and search their own motivations and goals. Also the male adult somehow forms a stronger relationship with a child.

If you have the lingering feeling of needing more of Barakamon then look no further. This anime is more or less a mirror image of Barakamon: guy going home to have a restart at career then meets a child that inspires and teaches him more about life and you get to see their adventures together. Definitely one of the best slice of life anime you can find. I guarantee you won't have any regrets. 10/10.

An adult male dealing with cute kindergarten kid. No ecchi included, minimum romance, more light comedy revolving around daily lives. Both children featured also speaks about the same way. Although Barakamon is richer in environment, Amaama shows us a similar story with big city as background.

Both are very relaxing to watch and are sort of about how a child sees the world. They also share a similar VA which to be honest helped me think of Barakamon while watching it. 
However the comedy, slice of life and the adorable kid running around gave me very similar vibes and I enjoyed them both a lot!

Both are cute, slice-of-life comedies about the interactions between a man and younger girls. It is very heartwarming to watch them take care of each other and all benefit from their familial relationship. A difference is that in Amaama to Inazuma, the man is actually the father of one of the girls, whereas in Barakamon, the man is not related to them. Both are good at evoking emotions and are sure to leave you with a smile on your face. I would highly recommend both of them.

Both anime have similar main character a guy and a girl. Both anime will tell the story about how the adult take care of the girl. The difference is in Barakamon the girl doesn't have any relationship with the guy meanwhile in Amaama to Inazuma will tells the story about a father take care of his daughter and make her happy.

Slice of life series with a taste of realism. Gin no Saji (Silver Spoon) and Barakamon shares a number of similarities. The main male protagonist is abruptly thrown into a new environment where he isn't used to. In the beginning, they cope with their new living conditions. However through experience, they are able to earn the respect of other characters he meets. The relationship dynamics are perhaps the most important element as the MC blends in with others while developing his own character. Recommended for all ages especially those seeking a realistic slice of life.

Firstly, both shows are short but utterly delightful Slice of Life anime that don't lose sight of reality amidst all the fun and humour (which is also great in both). Both focus on the protagonist who is introduced as the 'outsider' in a an unfamiliar environment at the beginning, and closely follow their progress throughout. The characterisation is excellent and there is significant development of the main character that is crafted subtly yet wonderfully. Not to mention both anime actually have educational and informative moments (GnS more so than Barakamon), particularly about country life, farming etc.

And so, both are highly recommendable.

- Both have similar art styles with good OSTs, OP and ED.
- Gin no Saji and Barakamon have the same sense of innocent humor that forces you to laugh with unexpected events, however it's not overdone.
- If you enjoyed Barakamon because it doesn't show service-cuts, you might as well enjoy Gin no Saji, both of them can be watched with family and friends.

First of all both shows are just simply great slice of life anime. In comparison both shows portray the main protagonist moving to a village/remote area and finding themselves in a totally contrasting environment where they see the world from a different perspective. Both shows focus on community, friendship and learning to accept the much slower and strikingly different lifestyle. They both carry a lot of growth for the main character as they struggle to adapt to their new way of living. Both series also have neat comedic moments mixed with very well executed sad/dramatic ones.

Gin no Saji gives off the same feel like Barakamon as both are slice of life and comedy anime. It's lighthearted and funny, with endearing characters. Both of the protagonists are city boys that have to adapt to their new 'alien' surroundings due to certain circumstances. In Barakamon, Seishuu Handa the calligrapher have to get used to living on an island, while in Gin no Saji, Yuugo Hachiken who has never been to a boarding school before have to adapt living in an agricultural boarding school. The protagonists are both socially awkward to a certain extent, but as the story progresses both of them changed for the better.

If you enjoy the laid back slife-of-life formula in a small town community like this one, Barakamon and Silver Spoon are very similar.  While Barakamon focuses more on a career adult rather than a school like Silver Spoonl, they carry a lot of similarities with their emphasis on community and learning to accept a slower and different lifestyle.  They both carry a lot of growth for the main character as they struggle to adopt this new lifestyle.

After debating the choices awhile, I found Barakamon to be a better recommendation for My Roommate is A Cat than Chi's Sweet Home.

The 2 protagonists are surprisingly comparable. Both 23 years old, a calligrapher and writer respectively, they share very similar personalities as well as character design! Reclusive workaholics with poor people skills (particularly the latter who's more melancholy due to recent circumstances) both of them give and take offence quite readily. This is where both anime introduce the small, innocent, and adorable who slowly humanise the 2 young men, helping them connect with others and find simple pleasures in life. 

My Roommate is A Cat portray the healing powers a pet can offer, while depicting cat behaviour with delightful insight. Needless to say, the result is Cuteness Overload!! Barakamon, despite having less cats (well there's a part in ep.4 and Handa IS a cat-lover) is similarly wholesome in exploring the lead's endearing interactions with his neighbourhood children.

If you enjoyed the comic yet heartwarming nature of Barakamon please watch My Roommate is A Cat. (Especially those who love cats! Also watch Chi's Sweet Home - it's simpler, shorter, and as sweet!)

they have the same vibe. we have a dude who needs help and has a lot of problems... so someone not expected comes to help, and it's amazing to see them together. in dooukyoin there's a kitten, and in barakamon, a little girl (which there's not much difference dfgdfhfgj) and in the journey of these two, more people appear to complete the path of our protagonist and is touching and cute and funny and beautiful and.. /sobs/

Shut in artists learn to open up with help from children/cat. Mood is similar, these anime aren`t overly dramatic, but you can see even little things can have big meaning for those who feel strongly about those involved. Watching these is a great way to get you up from gloom and make you feel better by the power of niceness.

Both are comedic and light-hearted though Kakushigoto reveals more underlying themes/secrets throughout the anime while Barakamon inches to the end of the plot.

Barakamon's MC is a calligrapher while Kakushigoto's MC is an erotic mangaka. 

Both are nurturing a child, in Barakamon, the child borders on being mischievous and is overly playful whereas in Kakushigoto, the child is the biological daughter of the MC, is reliable, and obedient.

Both are about an adult trying to bond (in a normal and not degenerate way) with a young girl wich ways of enjoying life will change their view of the world.
Slice of life about adults character nowadays are kinda uncommon, since most of them revolve around high school characters and school life: in those two anime, you have a fully grown adult with a career and a life: in those cases, they are artists trying to live a normal life in a world where art-related career are both loved and hated.

While not a romantic comedy, Barakamon holds a very similar sense of humour to Kawai Complex Guide. Both series involve a main character who moves out on his own, only to find himself surrounded by others who won't seem to leave him alone. Both main characters were isolated because of their profession. MC in 3-gatsu is a professional shogi player, MC in barakamon is a professional calligrapher. Both MC get help and inspiration from new friends.

Both 3-gatsu no Lion and Barakamon manage to combine slice of life and drama elements in an effective way. If you like your wholesome slice of life drama shows that will make you want to cheer for the characters and which also convey their personal development beautifully, I think you might like both of these anime.

In addition to both having similar a similar title and font used, there are some other similarities.

They both feature a man who goes to the big city of Tokyo to make it big, who for some reason has to go back to the country side. In both instances, the man has some level of skill or appreciation towards a traditional Japanese art [wagashi (sweets) and shodo (calligraphy)]. They're both dramas that have both light-hearted and heavy scenes but what's different is that deaimon focusses more on developing character plotlines, and it's a bit more dramatic.

Personally, I prefer barakamon story-wise, but I have no complaints about deaimon production-wise.&nbspread more

Both anime are slice of life featuring a protagonist that faced setbacks in their careers. 
Both moved elsewhere, more peaceful environment, for a change of pace.
Both protagonists meet a chilid and become a father/older brother figure to them.

Differences:
MC in Barakamon seems more pessimistic at times, but changes as his social circle expands; while, MC in Deaimon seems to somehow become optimistic from food.
Child in Barakamon tends to be more carefree, while child in Deaimon seems heavy-hearted.

Both are gut busting comedy series with heart and a large cast of unique characters that bounce off each other wonderfully.

Both also have small romantic sub-plots (although Shojo Nozaki-kun relies more heavily on jokes involving romance) and surprisingly both are light hearted with next to no fanservice.

This is my first time making a recommendation, and let me tell you, if you are looking for a comedy that you can rewatch and never get bored of, Barakamon and GSN exists. The main character of GSN, Nozaki Umetaro, is a high school mangaka and Barakamon's main character, Seishu Handa, is an aspiring calligrapher. These animes share a comedic story and a fair amount of supporting cast, which are also very well created. The characters of both these series have such diverse personalities and uniqueness.  Both stories involve the main character creating works of art with the help of their friends. On the contrary, they do NOT /strongly/ focus on love whatsoever. So if you are looking for a lovey dovey type, or even an action, horror thing this is not for you. &nbspread more

Both have MC-s that are good at arts. In Bakuman MC is good at drawing manga and in Barakamon MC is good at calligraphy. Because of their interests they meet with new people. Both MC-s very love what they are doing and overwork even. Also both MC-s have a rival - In Bakuman it's Niizuma and in Barakamon it is Kanzaki, both are young geniuses or so to say. Both are trying hard to get better and looking for more inspiration.

Chillax rural series with adorable country life titbits and small children who act like small children (they're even voiced by small children in Barakamon), and everyone else having designs that more or less fit their age.

Both shows are about the someone moving into the countryside to train in their craft/trade. Barakamon is the more drama heavy of the two and has a faster pace and fittingly it's set on a sunny island in the south, whilst Flying Witch is set high up in cold, cold Aomori.

I did not expect both of these shows to be so funny, peaceful and smart, considering initial silly setups. These shows has only one or two slip-ups, but they hold up very, very well.
I like how Demi-chan walks on the edge of teacher-student relationship without falling. Hopes up for season 2.
Meanwhile, Barakamon is very similar to Demi-chan, but without magic. Somehow brings internal peace about things that are going on in the show.

The main characters in both series are similar. Gintoki and Handa are adults who I find really alike. They take care of people younger than themselves, like how Gintoki gave Kagura a place to live and Handa entertaining Naru. These two series give off almost the same aura, feelings, and atmosphere. The story is also set in Japan for the both of them. Comedy is something that isn't lacking in any of the mention anime.  Moreover, the life lessons in these anime is the real deal. I truly believe that Gintama and Barakamon are good anime to watch.

Barakamon and Nichijou are similar shows in terms of what genre each show are a part of, both being slice of life and comedy. Both have amazing art, Nichijou being a completely unique art style and Barakamon just having "Those scenes"; the ones that make you sit in awe. However aside from both having the effect of putting a smile on your face from how cozy and humorous their story can be at times, that is where the similarities end. Barakamon was produced during the summer season of 2014 with 12 episodes, animated by Kinema Citrus (A fairly new studio). Where as Nichijou was produced during spring of 2011 with 26 episodes, animated by Kyoto Animations. The two both follow a different way of being told, Nichijou follows the format of telling multiple stories within the duration of the episode with little correlation from one story to the next. Barakamon follows a more standard format, each episode being a single story with the episodes actually correlating to one another; Barakamon has a much more linear theme compared to Nichijou. The two also differ in the type of comedy slightly, Barakamon takes on a more realistic view and manages to find humor in everyday situations. Nichijou's humor relies more on the scenes that have you wondering "Why is this escalating so quickly?". Regardless of how the story is told or art or whatever else; the two are both very enjoyable watches. Even if slice of life isn't exactly your kind of genre, I urge you to give either a chance.&nbspread more

Lighthearted slice of life shows about professionals in their early twenties, at the top of their field but also stuck in a slump/downward spiral; the shows do detail their respective downfalls, but it's more about their redemption, and how they proceed to find inspiration and motivation again through the help of others, learning more about themselves along the way.

Both deal with a pretty serious and anxiety-inducing theme, it's presented in a mature way with minimal melodrama. 

Positive and uplifting shows that leave you warm and fuzzy inside.

I believe both anime are incredible similar both in genre (comedy, every day life) and in the story.
In both of them a young man from the city is forced to live in an environment he isn't used to, in a smaller, more closed and tied community, interact with many people, learn to enjoy the little things in life, find his true self and mature.
Great humour is guaranteed as well as some life lessons from another, more simple and laid back point of view in life.

"Fune wo Amu" puts emphasis on definitions and alternative meanings of words, while the main character in "Barakamon" is occupied with their curves and their forms - as he's a calligraphy artist. Both anime are very innocent and refreshing, they both use the relationship between an adult and a kid as their main focus. Both anime contain extremely good life lessons and are filled with heart-warming moments. And even though the plots are very different, the feeling you get after watching them is really similar.

Both anime gives a heartwarming feeling. Besides, in both anime, a child is involved. Though, Akachan to Boku shows us how an older brother takes care of his little brother after their mother's death, Barakamon shows us that it's okay to take a break in life and enjoy the little things. 

What's similar in both animes is that, after watching the animes, you will feel the warmth of love & care. So, if you are in need of a heartwarming anime, you can obviously watch this two.

Barakamon is slice of life and an Iyashikei. Aria is the same, but the main difference between the two is Aria the animations over-arching plot is less integrated into the episodes, while barakamon has an over-arching plot. Though thats the big main difference between the two, if you want a calm, happy anime to make your depression go away, watch this, both are very episodic and slice of life and made to calm you!

Although they are not similar in content; the relaxing feeling you gain from watching both of these series are just amazing. Both are definitely worth watching if you are looking to watch something laid back, although Barakamon is more heavy in detail towards the story compared to Yuru Camp

both have very similar side characters. i think barakamon is faster paced and has more humour, but kinoku inu works better as a slower anime anyway. both have similar episode storylines. Also both are about the mc making friends and dealing with their past.

Both anime are incredibly wholesome and fun to watch while Tensura shows some action and wholesomeness, Barakamon shows us the daily life of the protagonist and wholesomeness. In short both stated anime are incredibly unwinding and can be watched at a quick pace.

These two shows are similar in their adorable-ness, to be frank. Both are colourful and fun to watch, and hold a sort of brainless entertainment that is quite often very valuable. Both shows are completely episodic as well, so you can pretty much jump into them from anywhere (with the possible exception of some handy exposition in the first episodes). The main difference is that Barakamon focuses prominently on Handa, whereas Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu ka focuses on a variety of characters for each episode.

Comedies set in small towns~ NieA Under 7 is set in the suburbs and Barakamon in the countryside though.
Slice of Life and characters interacting with each other in their daily life adventures, mainly fighting about things and ending up in funny situations.

Naru from Barakamon reminds me of Natsumi from Houkago Teibou Nisshi because they're both energetic and playful. On the other hand, Hina from Barakamon reminds me of Hina from Houkago Teibou Nisshi because they're both fainthearted. Their dialect/accent has the same "ring" to it as well! Also, both anime has the same light and relaxing atmosphere, and it's even got the "country" feel to them!

Feel-good shows about talented people working their way out of a rut in their career/work/life/hobby with the help of people around them. Finding inspiration and motivation from the outside, and learning more about themselves in the process.

One is about an early 20s calligrapher in a rural seaside village in the modern day, and one is a schoolgirl writer in late-Showa Tokyo.

Even though Barakamon has a bit more plot, rather than being a pure comedy, I kind of got the same nice relaxing feel from Tanaka-kun as I did Barakamon. They're both about slowing down, the kind of feel that can be much needed in this day and age, where everything has to happen now and here. They both set a relaxing pace and makes you appreciate the small things.

umm full of humer and one of the main characters in nijiiro is very similar to the main character in barakamon .... 
Both are slice of life and the colors and stuff give of a very similar feeling ... barakamon has no romance though so don`t expect romance in that one

I'm kinda surprised nobody has recommended this yet, to tell the truth. I feel like Barakamon is the spiritual sucessor to Moyashimon, and the name is only the beginning of similarities.
Both stories are "slice of life" of sorts, that happen in rural places, involving young adults. While in Barakamon the main character moves from the city to the countryside, so to speak, in Moyashimon the character moves from the countryside to the city. Both rely heavily on comedy, and the comedy is similar - although Moyashimon is a bit more sexualized than Barakamon - since both make fun of everyday ocurrences with a bit of exaggeration and parodyzing. Also, in Moyashimon, there's a guy who can see bacteriae, so it's more into the fantasy side of things than Barakamon. Either way, both are nice slice-of-life series that are sure to lighten your mood.&nbspread more

Both have characters that are thrown in a new environment. (Coming from the city to the countryside) 
Both are about character growth. In Hanasaku, it's also more of a coming of age story, but it's also similar in that it's about taking lessons from those around. 
Both have moments where the character is learning new things  

Finally, I think that both of these animes left me with the same happy feeling. Although the characters sometimes go through difficult moments, they can go through them with the help of those around them and grow from it.

A clean start is always welcoming, whether it's due to family matters or other acts. 'Barakamon' has a slice of life setting that is both funny and refreshing to watch, it puts a smile on your face at moments when you least expect it. 'Nagasarete Airantou' puts the focal point on comedy and chick magnet, but still keeps the fun going with adequate character relationships along the way.

If I have to think about a series similar to this, the first link forms between Asatte no Houkou and Barakamon. I haven't watched that much from the slice of life genre, but these two both feature a warm relationship between a grown man and a little girl, and the pace of the story remains as warm and peaceful. Overall relaxing to watch, and makes one smile.

- Set in a small village in the country side, with lots of nice details of country life and different accents/dialects (Okayama for Battery and Gotou islands for Barakamon).
- Prickly and ill-mannered, but ultimately talented protagonist (Barakamon details the events directly after such a person's fall from grace, whereas Battery is about the start of their pursuing their activity of choice).
- Small child actually voice by a small child!

Barakamon is a warm, fuzzy, feel-good sort of show with plenty of funny and cute moments despite the drama; whereas Battery is very heavy and makes for uncomfortable viewing at times because it doesn't gloss over flaws. The unlikable parts of a characters personality is clearly framed as ugly in Battery, as oppose to a cute little quirk that can be laughed off as in other shows.

The two shows have a similarly chilled backdrop, with a similar feeling in background art; but the atmosphere is as different as the topic (calligraphy vs. baseball).&nbspread more

Both are slice-of-life shows with an emphasis on the countryside and friendly communities. Barakamon is about a young adult adapting to this new environment and discovering his love for the people he meets, while Locodol is about a group of high school girls who promote their town and interact with the locals. Both shows have a warm atmosphere and also some comedy. If you want to feel good and have a smile on your face, I'd definitely recommend these shows.

Both contains main girl character who had lost their parents and the main male lead try to act as their guardian and take care of them. They both contains man girl character as a little kind who are a little perverted But always help out the main male character whenever they are in serious trouble and in need of compassion. the main male character learns how to take care of a kid. Both lovely and somewhat emotional but will make you laugh out load.

If you want to see something hilarious and don't mind if the story isn't a major point of the series, then you should check out this one ,too.

Both show exceptionell interesting/unique characters and relations between those without too much of a great sheme in terms of development, but a great deal of jokes and mood raising stories.

The art and music in both seems decent so you should be able to enjoy it.

Both anime are set in rural Japan. Handa and Kokonotsu are surrounded by bunch of unique characters who always support them no matter how harsh life for them. The main difference is Barakamon is about calligraphy, while Dagashi Kashi is about sweets & candy.

Slice of Life is very similar because of the internal struggles the characters go through.

While 3-gatsu was really sad at times, Barakomon was really funny.  Both characters being anxious and awkward in their own ways played out.

Both had that down to earth vibe that makes you want to watch it over and over again

The male leads both:
- were famous/respected in the past but certain events changed that
- are sent to a less-populated place that they don't want to be in
- have a lot of character development over the series
- meet new people who have completely different backgrounds to them
- are kind of similar in age
- are narcissists

The plot, or, since Barakamon doesn't have much of a plot, the main idea of the story is similar. The MC gets sent to some random place that's completely different from what they're used to, and have to adapt to their new (and very interesting) friends/neighbors. 

The main difference between these two is that in Amagi Brilliant Park, Kanie is trying to save the park, whereas in Barakamon Handa is just staying their until he apologises.&nbspread more

I get the same feeling from this two--the family and comedy atmosphere. I think, if you like any of the two, I can guarantee that you'll like the other one as well. One is slice-of-life, while the other is fantasy-historical genre.

This series have the same kind of pace and feel to them without being historical or mystic. Just a feel good slice of life, but it really has the same kind of calmness as Mushishi and Natsume.
