Iczer-Girl Iczelion

There isn't much to say about Iczelion. This will probably be hit or miss with most people. Personally, Hirano's character designs are some of my favorites and I am a sucker for hot blooded, fun mecha shows with women as the protagonists. "Fight!! Iczer 1" is one of my favorite anime, and I had fun with this alternate take on that story.

The powered armors in this series are all really cool - and give off a kind of Super Sentai vibe to me. The fight choreography is very good and the visual direction in general is stylish and effective. The antagonists looked pretty goofy, but ... I thought that they suited the tone of the series well. The art was not amazing for an OVA, but it was still quite good. The music was good as well. There is nothing interesting going on with characters and plot, but there is nothing bad about what is being done there either. Developing those features simply were not the point with this title. The girls have a bit of personality, but there are no real character arcs save the 'mc', and she also had a funny quirk that made the battles even more entertaining in a goofy fun way. The show ends without resolving the plot, I assume that it was canceled.

I suspect that this mainly appeals to a small niche, but if you loved any of the other Iczer anime, Hirano's character designs, enjoy watching 90s anime girls fighting in powered armor, and just want to have fun for an hour, you could do much worse than Iczelion. If the premise, anime that is just meant to be fun instead of deep, and art style, does'nt appeal to you then there is very little here for you, and it would be best to skip it.

I’ve watched all three seasons of Iczer, and I think it’s a solid 80s anime if you're looking to kill some time or revisit the "vibe" and mindset of that era.

The "yuri" elements are really only present in the first season; you won't find any of that in the sequels. Also—just a minor SPOILER here—the 3 Nagisas that appear in each season are actually different people (you can tell by their different last names).

That said, the anime leaves a few things unexplained, so there are definitely some loose ends that never quite get tied up.

Overall, for an 80s action/suspense series featuring ... warrior girls in mecha suits, I’d say these OVAs are well worth a watch.

Vi las 3 temporadas de Iczer y me parece que es un buen anime ochentero para pasar el rato y para recordar con nostalgia cómo era la mentalidad de los animes que aquella época.
Su parte "yuri" solo fue en su primer temporada, en las demás no hay nada de eso, pero además, y te lo diré como pequeño SPOILER, las 3 Nagisa que aparecen en cada temporada son diferentes (te puedes dar cuenta de eso con los apellidos de ellas).
Sin embargo, hay cosas que no quedaron del todo claras en el anime por lo que hay varios cabos sueltos por aclarar.

Para ser un anime ochentero de acción, suspenso y chicas guerreras con trajes mecánicos, me parece unas buenas OVAS para ver.

This is an OVA from the 1980s. It must have been one of the first OVA because the actual first came out in 1985, the same year as this one. And it wasn't very good. There's three separate sets of OVAs for this series. The first is called Fight!! Iczar-1, which has 3 episodes, the second is called Iczer Reborn 3, which has 6 episodes, and the third and final one is called Iczer-Girl Icellion, which has 2 episodes. This is one that I think I would enjoy if I watched it when I was a kid. Not absolutely ... loved, but enjoy well enough. The conflict is simplistic, the characters are one dimensional, and the action is fine for its time. I have a feeling I'd like it in a similar way that I did power rangers or Sailor Moon, albeit not as much as those two shows.
