Overview

Acta Universitatis Sapientiae, Film and Media Studies is an official publication of the Sapientia Hungarian University of Transylvania. Its mission is to promote cutting-edge research including the works of young scholars from all over the world by facilitating a quick international dissemination of new results. This peer reviewed scholarly journal invites the submission of original research articles written in English in all areas of film and (screen) media studies. The editors especially encourage papers addressing the following topics, either from a theoretical point of view or in the form of in-depth case studies:

  • the relationship of film/screen media and the arts, intermediality,
  • the phenomenology and performativity of moving images,
  • questions regarding image, body and sound in classical cinema and in the age of digital media,
  • the analysis of new trends, new authors, new genres in world cinema.
