Once #145 is merged, we can merge this one. I created a v0.5 tag and had it attached to this, but I realized it wasn't going to work.
The tag needs to point to the merge point for this branch, and not to the last commit on this branch. I'll create a tag once this branch is merged.
@davyw Could you look at the Windows build instructions in
INSTALLandREADME? I was going from memory when I wrote them.
