You may try it on another PC and then copy the driver from that PC to yours. |

Hi there! If you are facing this issue, you don't actually need another PC to export the drivers. The problem with AtlasOS is that it deeply disables or removes the core Windows Audio/MIDI services to save background processes. Since AtlasOS includes a troubleshooting folder on your desktop, you can easily restore these essential Windows services directly from your PC. Here is how to fix it: Go to the following path on your system: Look for the shortcut named Default Windows Services and Drivers. Right-click on it and select Run as administrator. A command prompt window will open and automatically restore the default Windows services (including the missing MIDI class-compliant architecture). Once it finishes, restart your PC. After restarting, plug in your MIDI keyboard. Windows should now automatically recognize it using its native generic drivers. Note: If you ever want to revert back to the aggressive Atlas optimization in the future, you can run the Default Atlas Services and Drivers shortcut from that same folder, though it's recommended to keep default Windows services active if you work with music production or MIDI devices. Hi everyone,
After a fresh install of the latest AtlasOS (Windows 11 24H2), my 88-key USB MIDI controller (Sunset SK-928 – fully class-compliant) is not being detected at all.
What happens:
Using a known-good data cable (printer cable) → works perfectly on stock Windows and other PCs.
On AtlasOS: either “Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)” or absolutely nothing shows up.
Device Manager shows no “USB MIDI Device”, no MIDI ports, nothing under Sound/Video/Game controllers related to MIDI.
I understand Atlas removes several USB Audio/MIDI drivers and components to reduce latency/services.
Is there an official/clean way to restore only the Microsoft USB MIDI class-compliant driver without breaking the rest of the optimizations?
Already tried:
Different cables and USB ports (rear 2.0 ports)
Uninstall device + reboot
Atlas Tweaker (current version) – no visible MIDI/USB Audio option
Does anyone have a working .reg, .bat, or component package to re-enable the generic Microsoft MIDI driver?
