I can find no documentation on how to change the updaterate.
In the documentation for the L80 it states that we should be able to change the updaterate from 1Hz to 10Hz, however in the documentation it also states that we'll never get an update faster than once per second.
Any documentation I've found relates to other chips and sending a PMTK command which is a standard NMEA type command. However the GPS device does not communicate any acknowledgement or status of PMTK commands.
For example, the one to send for changing the update rate is suggested elsewhere as:
$PMTK220,100*2F
