Before software, I spent two years as a Staff Research Associate at UC San Diego's Abarbanel Research Group, applying Data Assimilation and Information Theory principles to train neural networks for chaotic time series prediction in Python and C.

That research background shapes how I approach engineering: methodical, performance-aware, and comfortable with complexity.
