Hi, I'm Alexandra Kay

I'm a full-stack engineer and Master's in Computer Science student building clean, modern applications with a practical, product-minded approach. I like turning ideas into usable software: polished interfaces, thoughtful user flows, solid backend architecture, reliable data layers, secure APIs, and technical decisions that make the next version easier to build.

Right now, I am focused on shipping real projects, strengthening my CS fundamentals, and using AI as a practical engineering multiplier.

What I Do

  • Build responsive, modern web applications from UI to deployment
  • Create clean user interfaces with strong attention to layout, usability, accessibility, and polish
  • Develop full-stack features across frontend, backend, database, API, and cloud layers
  • Work across JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Java, Node.js, and related ecosystems
  • Design and consume REST and GraphQL APIs
  • Build with security, performance, maintainability, and scalability in mind
  • Explore practical AI integrations for learning tools, productivity apps, and smarter workflows
  • Document what I build so the work is understandable, reusable, and easy to grow

Current Focus

  • Building one focused app at a time and improving with each project
  • Growing a public body of full-stack work on GitHub
  • Writing about the technical decisions behind my builds
  • Deepening computer science fundamentals through my WGU MSCS
  • Creating applications that are useful, clean, and maintainable
  • Strengthening AI integration, UI/UX, performance optimization, and scalable architecture

How I Build

My working rhythm is:

Build -> Document -> Share -> Repeat

I care about more than whether something technically works. I care about whether the interface is clear, whether the code can be understood later, whether the product solves a real problem, and whether each project teaches me something I can carry into the next one.
