ZmanBar v0.1 Beta Release

This is the initial beta release of ZmanBar, a simple and elegant GNOME Shell extension that seamlessly integrates the Hebrew date into your desktop.

This version introduces the core functionality of the extension, providing a convenient way to keep track of the Hebrew calendar directly from your GNOME panel.

✨ Key Features

  • Top Panel Integration: Displays the current Hebrew day and month right next to the clock in the GNOME top panel for at-a-glance visibility.
  • Full Date in Menu: When you open the date/time menu, ZmanBar shows the complete Hebrew date, including the year, alongside the Gregorian date.
  • Lightweight & Native: Designed to be unobtrusive and integrate perfectly with the default GNOME look and feel.

⚠️ Important: Beta Release & Known Limitations

This is a beta version, and your feedback is invaluable! The primary known limitation in this release is:

  • Date Change Timing: The Hebrew date currently changes at midnight along with the Gregorian date. It does not yet account for shkiah. This means that from shkiah until midnight, the displayed Hebrew date will be a day behind. This is a top priority for a future release.

🖥️ Compatibility

  • GNOME Shell 48
  • GNOME Shell 49
