I’m a Platform/Cloud/DevOps Engineer based in UK working full time on all things Kubernetes and the cloud. In my spare time I enjoy researching some of the CNCF tools on my kubernetes clusters and doing weekly bouts of some leetcode challenges.

Cloud Computing

Worked with most of the major clouds such as GCP, AWS, Azure, mainly work in AWS. EKS being a major part of day to day work.

Docker

Experienced with multi-stage, multi-arch build processes. Most builds taking place as part of CI/CD pipelines.

Prometheus

Capable of setup, configure Prometheus metrics. Experienced with PromQL, AlertManager. Also, experienced with writing metric exporters.

Linux

Using as the main operating system. Capable of writing bash/shell scripts.

Experienced with git-based development. Mostly, use Github professionally. Also, have experience in working with GitLab outside work.

Use python weekly as part of leetcode. Also used for a number of adhoc scripts when bash doesn’t cut it.

Experienced with terraform based infrastructure development. Extends to module development and terragrunt / terraspace.

Month one complete Wow - One month in already. Time really does fly when you’re…… no, that enough of that. It’s been an interesting month this month, mainly looking to add some tooling to my setup to make things easier to product content. For example, I was using Ulysses to write my content, then moving it over to vscode to publish however this seemed a bit clunky having to copy everything over so I moved to vscode code itself.

What is Python

Introduction python.org describes python as: “Python is an interpreted, object-oriented, high-level programming language with dynamic semantics.
