Serving Roxboro, N.C., through Carolina Community Academy
Carolina Community Academy is an innovative K-2 school and a collaboration between Person County Schools and UNC-Chapel Hill. The UNC School of Education leads a cross-campus coalition — including Ackland Art Museum, Morehead Planetarium and Science Center, the schools of medicine, public health, dentistry, social work, and more — to serve the students, their families, and the community in Person County.

Through programs like the Fellows for Inclusive Excellence — made possible by private philanthropy — the UNC School of Education is creating new pathways for its students and alumni to serve students in the state's rural communities.

Through the Master of Arts in Teaching program, we prepare many of the state's highly effective teachers. Combined with opportunities like the Fellows for Inclusive Excellence program, our graduates go on to serve students and schools who need them the most.
