By Lemuel Gulliver, First a Surgeon, and then a Captain of Several Ships is a 1726 prose satire by the Anglo-Irish writer and clergyman Jonathan Swift, satirising both human nature and the "travellers' tales" literary subgenre. It is Swift's best-known full-length work and a classic of English literature. Swift claimed that he wrote Gulliver's Travels "to vex the world rather than divert it".
The book was an immediate success. The English dramatist John Gay remarked, "It is universally read, from the cabinet council to the nursery."

奇幻与讽刺交织的幻想文学。虽然人物表现有些平平(各个国家上到君王下到百姓都有种为了系统运作的齿轮的感觉),但为了政治讽刺而设计的各个充满想象力的奇特国家就描写而言既不缺失系统的完整性,也让穿插期间的讽刺梗变得让读者即使不能理解深意也会觉得非常有趣
补,大概高中时期读的,讽刺奇幻小说,小人国巨人国印象还挺深
